Spike Single Crochet
After explaining what single crochet stitches (UK: double crochet) are and how to work them in a previous tutorial, this guide focuses on spike single crochet stitches. Spike stitches are not worked into the stitch of the previous round. Instead, you insert your hook between the posts of the stitches in the round or row specified in the pattern.


Start by inserting your crochet hook into the corresponding stitch in the specified round/row, yarn over, and pull up a loop, drawing it upward to the height of your current working row.
Note: It is very important that the yarn strands do not cross.


You should now have 2 loops on your crochet hook. Yarn over again and pull through both loops.
