Making a Pompom
In this part of our extensive crochet glossary, we’ll show you how to easily make a pompom.
As an example, we will use a pompom with a diameter of about 6 cm.
First, use scissors to cut 2 circles with a diameter of 6 cm out of a piece of cardboard. Then, cut a hole with a diameter of 2.5 cm into the center of both circles. Now place both circles on top of each other.

Next, thread a piece of yarn about 2 m long onto a yarn needle (tapestry needle) and insert it from underneath through the center of the circles. Repeat this process until you can barely fit the needle through the hole in the middle.

Now cut the yarn open along the outside edge of the cardboard circles.

Next, take a 50 cm long piece of cotton thread, pull it tightly between the two cardboard circles, and tie a double knot.

Then snip the cardboard circles open a little on the side and pull them off the pompom.

Now you can trim and fluff the pompom a bit and tie it onto your hat. Your pompom hat (bobble hat) is finished!

We hope that our extensive crochet glossary has brought you a little closer to the world of crochet, and we wish you continued fun bringing your crochet projects to life.
