Loop Stitches with Single Crochet
Here you’ll learn how to crochet loop stitches using single crochet stitches (UK: double crochet). In our tutorial, we’ll show you how easy it is.
The loops are created while you work a single crochet stitch.
To do this, before inserting your hook into the stitch, use your left middle finger to catch the working yarn from behind. Pull it down about 1 cm to form 1 loop (this loop stays around your middle finger).

Now insert your hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, then yarn over again, and pull through both loops on your hook.

After you’ve completed the single crochet stitch, tighten the loop that formed on the back.
To do this, pull on the strand that is closer to the body of the last stitch you worked, not on the working yarn itself.

This is what finished single crochet loop stitches look like.
