Back Post Half Double Crochet
We've already shown you how to crochet back post single crochet stitches. Here you'll learn how to crochet back post half double crochet stitches (UK: half treble) around the post of the stitch. With our crochet tutorial, it's super easy.

Photo 1 shows you what back post half double crochet stitches look like when they're worked around the post.

First, yarn over once and insert your hook from back to front, right next to the stitch post.
Next, guide the hook across the front of the post and, in the same motion, insert it into the space on the other side of the post, pushing it toward the back. Now, pull up a loop.

In the next step, yarn over and pull the working yarn through all 3 loops on your hook.
For regular double crochet stitches (UK: treble), you would instead first pull the working yarn through 2 of the 3 loops on your hook, and then pull through the last two. That's it!
