The First Round in the Magic Ring
At the beginning of our tutorial series, we already explained what a magic ring is and how to make it. Now we’d like to show you how to crochet the 1st round into the magic ring.
Important: In the 1st round into the magic ring, the number of stitches and the stitch type vary from pattern to pattern.

To start, yarn over.

Then insert your hook into the magic ring, yarn over, and pull the working yarn through the ring.

Next, yarn over again and pull the yarn through all 3 loops on your hook.

Your first half double crochet (UK: half treble crochet) is finished. If you’d like, you can now crochet the number of stitches specified in this tutorial.

The picture shows 11 half double crochets in the magic ring, which you can now practice recreating.
