Joining Rounds from the Back with a Color Change

This guide shows you how to easily join rounds from the back with a color change. Joining the rounds this way helps avoid a jog when switching colors.

When changing colors, insert your hook from the back into the chain stitch (ch). With the new color, work the slip stitch (sl st) and the chain stitch.

It is important that after joining, you always insert your hook right before the next stitch—into the chain stitch.

If you find it hard to spot the chain stitch, we recommend marking it with a safety pin or stitch marker.
