Double Crochet

Along with our tutorial for the half double crochet, we also have a guide showing you how to quickly and easily crochet a double crochet (UK treble crochet).

To make a double crochet, first yarn over once before inserting your hook into the chain stitch. You now have a yarn over on the hook. Next, insert your hook into the stitch and pull the yarn through.

Now you have 3 loops on your crochet hook.

In the next step, yarn over and pull it through the first two loops on the hook. You now have 2 loops on the crochet hook.

To finish, yarn over again and pull it through the two remaining loops on the hook.

And that’s your first double crochet! From here on, you just repeat the same steps.
