Overview

1. Quickstart

You have a finished pattern you created yourself and want to offer it on Crazypatterns? Let’s go:

2. Preparation – What You Need

Title
Max. 70 characters; includes technique + motif + “pattern/file”.
Short description
one sentence describing exactly what will be created.
Materials list
Yarn, needle, accessories, etc.
Images/Videos
1 main image (JPG/PNG), additional images as ZIP, optional preview video.
Main file
Pattern as PDF; embroidery or plotter data as ZIP.

3. Step 1 – Fill in required fields

  1. Title – clear, complete, no keyword lists.
  2. Language – select the main language of your file.
  3. General description – 2–3 introductory sentences (no external links).
  4. Knowledge & difficulty – e.g., beginner, intermediate, expert.
  5. Size info – final size or clothing sizes.
  6. Materials – everything the buyer needs.
  7. Other info – e.g. usage rights.

Note: Information must not be repeated; each field has its own purpose.

4. Step 2 – Write description

  • Introduction: What is made, what result to expect?
  • What's included: Number of pages, images, charts, file format.
  • Prerequisites: Which techniques must be known?
  • Difficulty: One word is enough (Beginner / Intermediate / Expert).
  • Sizes: measurements of the finished piece; exact sizes and age ranges for clothing.
  • Copyright & usage: What is allowed, what is not?

Important: Only links to crazypatterns.net are allowed—all others will be automatically deleted.

5. Step 3 – Add tags

  • Maximum 15 tags—one word each, separated by commas.
  • Examples: crochet, amigurumi, professor owl.
  • New tags will be reviewed – publication may be briefly delayed.

6. Step 4 – Upload files

A) PDF, embroidery, plotter or similar files

  • Main preview image (JPG/PNG): shows the finished product; up to 500 MB.
  • Additional preview images (ZIP): gallery on the product page; up to 500 MB.
  • Main file(s) (ZIP): pattern or embroidery files in all languages; up to 500 MB.
  • (Optional) Preview video: public sneak peek; up to 10 GB.

B) Video tutorials

  • Main preview image: Thumbnail in lists & shop; up to 500 MB.
  • Additional preview images: gallery; up to 500 MB.
  • Main video: full course (not public for paid patterns); up to 10 GB.
  • (Optional) PDF pattern: Companion booklet as ZIP; up to 500 MB.
  • (Optional) Preview video: public highlights; up to 10 GB.

Recommendations: image aspect ratio 4 × 3 (e.g., 2000 × 1500 px).
Video quality: HD 720p. Formats: mov, mpeg4, mp4, mpg, avi, wmv, mpegps, flv, 3gpp, webm, mkv.
Image rule: no external web addresses or visibly branded products in images.

Good product images help not only on the product page, but also when attracting new buyers: In Inspo, users often discover patterns through images first.

7. Step 5 – Select category & attributes

  • Select at least one and a maximum of three categories.
  • Some main categories only allow certain subcategories.
  • The team will review the selection and adjust it if needed.

8. Step 6 – Specify file types

Tick which file types your download includes:

  • VIDEO
  • PDF
  • IMAGE
  • MS Word (only if absolutely necessary)
  • Embroidery file

Note: Many buyers can only open PDFs and images. Avoid Word, Pages, OpenOffice, and PowerPoint. If you use them, mention it in the description.

9. Step 7 – Set price

  • Enter your price in the “Euro” field (minimum price: €0.50).
  • Important: A free pattern cannot later be converted into a paid one.

10. Any questions?

  • Support: at the bottom of the footer you’ll find “Contact Support”—or use the contact form.
  • More help: find more articles in the Help Section (e.g., about payments, downloads, and more).

Good luck—we look forward to your new product! 😊
