1. Quickstart
You have a finished pattern you created yourself and want to offer it on Crazypatterns? Let’s go:
2. Preparation – What You Need
Title
Max. 70 characters; includes technique + motif + “pattern/file”.
Short description
one sentence describing exactly what will be created.
Materials list
Yarn, needle, accessories, etc.
Images/Videos
1 main image (JPG/PNG), additional images as ZIP, optional preview video.
Main file
Pattern as PDF; embroidery or plotter data as ZIP.
3. Step 1 – Fill in required fields
Title – clear, complete, no keyword lists.
Language – select the main language of your file.
General description – 2–3 introductory sentences (no external links).
Knowledge & difficulty – e.g., beginner, intermediate, expert.
Size info – final size or clothing sizes.
Materials – everything the buyer needs.
Other info – e.g. usage rights.
Note: Information must not be repeated; each field has its own purpose.
4. Step 2 – Write description
Introduction: What is made, what result to expect?
Scope: Number of pages, images, charts, file format.
Prerequisites: Which techniques must be known?
Difficulty: One word is enough (Beginner / Intermediate / Expert).
Sizes: measurements of the finished piece; exact sizes and age ranges for clothing.
Copyright & usage: What is allowed, what is not?
Important: Only links to crazypatterns.net are allowed—all others will be automatically deleted.
5. Step 3 – Add tags
Maximum 15 tags— each one word, separated by commas.
Examples: crochet , amigurumi , professor owl .
New tags will be reviewed – publication may be briefly delayed.
6. Step 4 – Upload files
A) PDF, embroidery, plotter or similar files
Main preview image (JPG/PNG): shows the finished product; up to 500 MB.
Additional preview images (ZIP): gallery on the product page; up to 500 MB.
Main file(s) (ZIP): pattern or embroidery files in all languages; up to 500 MB.
(Optional) Preview video: public sneak peek; up to 10 GB.
B) Video
Main preview image: Thumbnail in lists & shop; up to 500 MB.
Additional preview images: gallery; up to 500 MB.
Main video: full course (not public for paid patterns); up to 10 GB.
(Optional) PDF pattern: Companion booklet as ZIP; up to 500 MB.
(Optional) Preview video: public highlights; up to 10 GB.
Recommendations: image aspect ratio 4 × 3 (e.g., 2000 × 1500 px).
Video quality: HD 720p. Formats: mov, mpeg4, mp4, mpg, avi, wmv, mpegps, flv, 3gpp, webm, mkv.
Image rule: no external web addresses or visibly branded products in images.
7. Step 5 – Select category & attributes
Select at least one and a maximum of three categories.
Some main categories only allow certain subcategories.
The team will review the selection and adjust it if needed.
8. Step 6 – Specify file types
Tick which file types your download includes:
VIDEO
PDF
IMAGE
MS Word (only if absolutely necessary)
Embroidery file
Note: Many buyers can only open PDFs and images. Avoid Word, Pages, OpenOffice, and PowerPoint. If you use them, mention it in the description.
9. Step 7 – Set price
Enter your price in the “Euro” field (minimum price: €0.50).
Important: A free pattern cannot later be converted into a paid one.
