The Post Stitch
A post stitch is made by working a half double crochet (UK: half treble crochet) or double crochet (UK: treble crochet) around the post of a stitch. This tutorial shows you how.

To make a post stitch, start with a yarn over. Then insert the hook from the front, to the right of the stitch post, and pass the hook behind the post. Yarn over and pull up a loop so that you have 3 loops on the hook.

For a half double crochet post stitch, yarn over again and pull through all 3 loops.

For a double crochet post stitch (see picture), yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops. Then yarn over again and pull through the last 2 loops. Done.
