Participation Terms: Blog Compensation for External Blogs

Effective date: March 27, 2026.

Overview

1. Scope

1.1 Subject matter

These participation terms govern compensation for blog posts published on external websites that mention Crazypatterns. They do not apply to content published directly on crazypatterns.net.

1.2 Relationship to other agreements

In addition, the Terms of Use for Users, the Terms of Use for Authors and the AI Agreement apply.

2. Eligibility requirements

2.1 Blog ownership or editorial responsibility

You must own the blog or be authorized to publish the submitted post there under your own editorial responsibility.

2.2 Active author account and blog domain

Participation requires an active author account on Crazypatterns.

For the monthly submission limit, "blog domain" means the registrable domain of the submitted URL, for example example.com for www.example.com and blog.example.com. For IP addresses, localhost and comparable development hosts, the exact host is used.

2.3 Blog quality and compensation tiers

Crazypatterns assigns your blog to a compensation tier based on publicly visible signals such as topical fit, editorial quality, transparency and estimated monthly visitors.

Tier Compensation per post Classification
Starter 50.00 EUR Smaller blogs with strong topical fit and manual quality review
Creator 100.00 EUR Usually at least 2,000 monthly visitors
Pro 200.00 EUR Usually at least 10,000 monthly visitors

Classification is made at the time of submission and applies to the specific claim. Changes to tiers or criteria apply to future submissions.

3. Blog post requirements

3.1 Content and quality

  1. Minimum length: at least 800 words of original editorial text.
  2. Topic: needlework, DIY, knitting, crochet, sewing, crafting, plotter projects or related creative topics.
  3. Own viewpoint: The post contains a recognizable personal experience, opinion or practical tip. Pure product roundups or press releases are not accepted.
  4. Authorship: The post is assigned to a clearly named author with a visible short bio on the blog.
  5. Images: The post contains at least one self-created image or video illustrating the content. Pure stock photography is not sufficient.
  6. Editorial quality: The text is free from major spelling and grammar issues and must remain plausible on its face.
  7. No raw AI text: Pure machine-generated text without substantial editorial revision is not accepted. AI tools may be used as support if the final post is clearly revised and includes a personal viewpoint.
  8. No duplicate content: The post must not appear in identical or materially identical form on another domain.

3.2 Structure and readability

  1. A clear H1 headline and meaningful subheadings.
  2. Paragraphs and, where useful, lists to improve readability.

3.3 Technical requirements

  1. Publicly reachable: The post must be available at a permanent public URL. No noindex, no password protection and no cloaking.
  2. Machine-reviewable: The page must remain reachable for search engines and common web crawlers.
  3. Mobile friendly: The page must be usable on mobile devices and load at a reasonable speed.
  4. Recommended - schema markup: Use structured data as Article or BlogPosting including author, publication date and dateModified.

3.4 Link and disclosure requirements

  1. Crazypatterns link: The body text contains at least one full link to crazypatterns.net.
  2. rel="sponsored": Paid or compensated links to Crazypatterns must be marked with rel="sponsored".
  3. Advertising disclosure: The post must be labeled as advertising or paid content in line with applicable labeling rules or local regulation.

3.5 Exclusions

The following are not accepted:

  1. private blog networks or domains without recognizable editorial substance,
  2. sites created solely to obtain compensation,
  3. sites containing misleading health, legal or financial claims,
  4. sites that violate applicable law or public morals.

4. Submission and review

4.1 Submission

You submit the published blog post through the form on the Blog Compensation page by providing the post URL and giving the confirmations requested there.

4.2 Consent to review

By submitting, you grant Crazypatterns permission to retrieve the specified URL automatically and review the submission by machine and by editorial assessment. Review may include in particular:

  • reachability and indexability of the page,
  • presence and labeling of the Crazypatterns link,
  • word count, structure and editorial quality,
  • topical fit and plausibility,
  • advertising disclosure and schema markup,
  • uniqueness of the post.

Processing takes place exclusively for submission evaluation. Details on data processing and service providers are described in the Privacy Policy.

4.3 Review result

Crazypatterns reviews submissions within a reasonable timeframe and may contact you if needed. There is no entitlement to approval.

4.4 Timing of submission

Posts should be submitted reasonably soon after publication. Crazypatterns may reject outdated submissions or submissions that are no longer reviewable or reachable.

5. Compensation and payout

5.1 Amount of compensation

Compensation depends on the tier assigned under section 2.3. It is a flat 50.00 EUR (Starter), 100.00 EUR (Creator) or 200.00 EUR (Pro) per accepted blog post. No more than one post per blog domain is compensated per calendar month.

5.2 Payout structure

  1. First installment (50%): payable after approval.
  2. Second installment (50%): payable no earlier than 90 days after approval if the post is still publicly reachable at the submitted URL and still meets the requirements of section 3.

Before the second installment is paid out, Crazypatterns may re-check the URL.

5.3 Loss of the second installment

If the post is no longer reachable at the later review date, has been materially changed or no longer meets the requirements of section 3, the second installment is forfeited without replacement.

5.4 Payout

The compensation is payable in accordance with these participation terms. Further payout processing follows the agreements linked in section 1.2.

6. After approval

6.1 Continued availability

The compensated post must remain publicly reachable at the submitted URL for at least 90 days after approval. Removal, inaccessibility or a material change during that period can lead to loss of the second installment and, after payout, to repayment claims.

6.2 Corrections and updates

Corrections of spelling or grammar issues, editorial improvements and factual updates that do not materially change the character of the post are permitted and expressly welcome.

6.3 No exclusivity

The post remains your property and stays on your domain. Crazypatterns does not acquire any right to use the text. After the review period, you may remove or change the post.

7. Exclusion and repayment

7.1 Exclusion

Crazypatterns reserves the right to exclude participants from the program in the event of violations of these participation terms, suspected manipulation or implausible information.

7.2 Repayment

If a compensated post later turns out not to meet these requirements, especially because of plagiarism, false statements, inadmissible domain structures, removal or inaccessibility after payout, Crazypatterns may reclaim compensation already paid.
