I’m just writing a quick post here—without checking the box for replies—so I won’t get flooded with emails anymore. I’ve already written to Support.

Washcloths and dishcloths are also a great way to use up leftovers. The peace dove is an eye-catching and especially beautiful symbol that also makes a lovely gift.

If you prefer something simpler, you can use this pattern to knit 6 different washcloths. Each one has a different design. Very easy, and suitable for beginners too.

Andrea, I’ll definitely take a photo of my kindergarten group. By the way, I actually used to be a daycare provider for two little girls when my son was still little. That way, I could be at home for him, and he also felt like he had little siblings. It was a really wonderful time—I enjoyed it.

So mine are called:
Sternchen, Manuel, Tommi, Rosalie, Lena, Paula, then the quadruplets: Tim and Tina, Merle and Merlin.

Wow! Oh my gosh, that’s already 10!!!

Yes, Marlies, I agree with you there, too. Letting the child within us come alive is something many of us have to learn all over again. It’s wonderful that there are more and more of us here who find joy in it.

Oh Marlies, your Luna is soooo cute. She looks just like a real baby. The new clothes look great on her.

I’ve also had a few knitting needles break on me—so far, just the Knit Pro ones. I definitely won’t be buying those again.

My Rosalie arrived today. She’s a real beauty—an artist’s doll by Carmen Gonzalez, with an inscription on the back of her head: name and date 9/1997.

Rosalie is about the same size as your Luna. She measures 57 cm from head to heel. For now, I’ve dressed her in clothes from my stash. But there’s plenty more to come. It’s nice that I now have another in-between size. It’s almost as if we got our new baby girls at the same time. :))

Even the little baby dolls (approx. 35 cm) need a sleeping bag. This one is very easy to knit from colorful leftovers.

I’m always blown away by your felted slippers. I love them and love wearing them myself. Especially because you make them using lasts, I can never get mine to turn out that well.

Thanks for these great sewing threads, Ina. And thanks also to everyone who shares tips here. I’m learning a lot. I’ll start sewing myself soon, but unfortunately I can’t clone myself yet, so it’ll have to wait.

Thanks for the lovely glimpses of spring, Petra. Nature is a bit further along where you are than it is here. We had our first mild spring day today with 14 degrees and sunshine.

These funny lucky bug potholders are useful helpers in the kitchen and make a great Easter gift. Very easy for beginners to crochet, too.

This cozy newborn jacket is knitted in a country style. It has a hood and a pretty heart lace pattern. The jacket fits up to approx. 4 months, and later it will fit a doll.

Yeah, I agree, Inge. You should write patterns. Your designs are always so beautiful. This one is no exception.

Dishcloths or washcloths are great to knit in your spare time using leftover yarn. Here, you can make them in 6 different patterns. That way, everyone gets their own pattern that’s easy to recognize.

Now my second baby is here, and I’m totally in love. She’s new, and she’s a girl. The new one is Merle, and the one I already had is now called Merlin. She arrived wrapped in a cloth with a little bear embroidered on it. Here’s the photo:



And here are the two of them together. They’re my babies now—35 cm tall.

Wow, what interesting photos you’ve shared here. I have no idea where my photos from that time even are. I got together with my current husband in the ’80s—that was the biggest highlight. All I know is that the “Mecki” haircut was in style back then. I had that cut too, and I wasn’t happy with it at all. Once my hair grew out again, I always had a slight perm until about 10 years ago, and I was happy with it because my hair has always been very thin. However, it takes a toll on your hair. I never had that kind of messy mop of hair—just curly hair that looked natural.

I liked wearing jackets with padded shoulders because I have pretty narrow shoulders. But they were only very subtle pads. I can’t even imagine that today.
