The swallows are here—are they here where you are, too?

Today here in southeastern Bavaria, the first swallows are flying over our house. What a joy! And right on time for Pentecost. Summer can definitely come now.

How about where you are? Have you spotted any swallows yet?

I saw the first swifts earlier this week.

Here in Berlin, the swallows arrived a week ago, too. They always nest by my bedroom window on the 4th floor. In the evenings and mornings, they’re always flying around—it’s so lovely to watch! ❤️

I haven’t seen any yet.

But this week, the young swallows from Meissen have been in the garden. It’s so cute how they beg for food. 

Oh wow, the swallows have been flying up north for a week already? That’s really early. But titmice in the garden are cute, too. We rarely see them, though.

I haven’t seen any swallows around here in a long time, but a blackbird, several tits, and a redstart have been nesting in the tree in front of the house for years.

The swallows have been flitting around here for a few days now, too. Right next door (by the kitchen window).
They have their nests on the outside of the window (stairwell).
So when I’m standing in the stairwell, I can watch them through the window. Right now, they’re still building their nests.
Lots of fluttering and chirping.

How lovely to be able to watch swallows. I’d love that, too. Unfortunately, I don’t know where they’re nesting around here. Probably at some farm—there are plenty of them around here.

Here, we have swifts, too. There used to be a few nests at our old house, right in the middle of downtown—I always thought that was really lovely.
