Have a great weekend / Halloween / All Saints’ Day

I wish you a wonderful weekend with plenty of time for crafting. Do you have any plans for Halloween or All Saints’ Day?

I don’t have any Halloween plans. I like the decorations, but the tradition of celebrating it came to Germany too late—it wasn’t around when I was a kid or a teenager—so it feels really unfamiliar to me.

I also have absolutely no plans for the weekend—I just got back from vacation. So I’ll be doing a lot of crocheting and reading. So far, the weather has been great—sunshine every day—so it’s perfect for walks, and I’ve been taking full advantage of that. And I’ve put my winter tires on the car—it won’t stay this nice forever.

We don’t celebrate Halloween here either—I’ll either be knitting or at the sewing machine

I really like Halloween decorations—as long as they’re more “friendly-spooky” and not too gory—and I’ve dug out a few decorations this year, too.
I found this little witch figurine a long time ago in a typical tourist shop at the Hexentanzplatz in the Harz Mountains; she always gets a spot among my homemade decorative treasures.

I’d also like to wish everyone here a wonderful weekend—or rather, a wonderful Sunday (I’m a little late) 🤭. Halloween isn’t really my thing at all—neither the decorations nor anything else—but if you like it, I hope you enjoy it. For us, it’s just a normal weekend with some rest, a walk, handicrafts, etc.—whatever brings us joy. 😇

I’ll admit it: I’m not a fan of Halloween. It wasn’t a thing when I was a kid or a teenager. The tradition was probably imported from the U.S. (for commercial reasons?). You don’t have to go along with everything. I’m just not into spooky stuff, monsters, spiders, and so on. But to each their own.

During today’s walk in the sunshine, I noticed that many people see things differently and had decorated their houses, gardens, and fences accordingly. That way, the kids asking for candy always know right away where to ring the doorbell.
