I saved some flowers today

Yeah, that sounds strange, but I actually rescued some flowers at Rewe.
The manager there was sorting through various bouquets because many of the flowers in them had wilted. So I just asked him how much they’d cost if I took two of them.

He said I was welcome to pick something out and take it for free. Of course, that made me happy, because there were quite a few flowers in there just waiting to be saved by me. And so now I’ve been given a beautiful Pentecost bouquet as a gift.

As always, I have to work. But starting Tuesday, I’ll have two weeks of vacation—hurray. I’ve earned it too, because lately we’ve all been running on fumes. Not enough people. Sad and stressful.

A beautiful bouquet, dear Monika!
We often bring the most gorgeous bouquets to our food-sharing events, and we’ve saved quite a few there, too.

That’s such a nice idea, Mel. I’m familiar with food sharing, but I didn’t know they had flowers there, too. In any case, I was really happy about this stroke of luck.

Andrea, you’ve truly earned your vacation and can now look forward to plenty of time for yourself and your family. I’m sure you already have some ideas about all the things you want to do together.
