Craft kits with yarn and patterns: do you like them?

Do you like to buy complete kits with a pattern and matching yarn, or do you prefer to buy just a pattern and then use yarn of your choice?

Dear Josefa,

I’m a free spirit—either a particular type of yarn catches my eye, or I like a specific pattern. Rarely do the two go together for me. 

If you like the combination, you’re naturally all set and can get started right away. That’s not creative enough for me—I want to get involved and give the project my own personal touch. Just following the pattern with the specified yarn would be too boring for me. But to each their own. Your mind can relax, and you just have to do the handwork to get exactly what was promised.
