Dear Community,
Do you have plans for the weekend, or plenty of time for crafts? Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
Thanks, Josefa—have a great weekend, too. And to all of you, of course!
I’ve made more progress using up my scraps—I’ve gone from nearly three layers down to the “bottom layer,” so there’s just one layer left in the under-bed box. But I’m sure there’s still more to go; things are really going well.

Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for you and everyone else here. We don’t have anything special planned; I’ll be at my sewing machine making clothes for myself.
Best regards, Inge
We don’t have anything special planned either. I’m going to keep knitting on my sweater a bit. Oh yeah, my sweater—here’s a little story about it 😉: I’d started on a pretty pattern, which you can see here in my post: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/forum/topic/217853/schoenes-wochenende-tag-der-kaesepizza-am-samstag-zeit-zum-handarbeiten
But I’m slowly turning into the world champion of unraveling.🫣 The yarn is really pretty, ranging from vanilla to raspberry in a single skein (200 g). I’d almost finished the front piece—and once again, I didn’t like it. Plus, the intervals between color changes are very, very long, so I can’t even work in all the colors. And I definitely didn’t want just vanilla and pale pink with a hint of pink at the bottom edge. Then I would’ve had to start the second ball for the back, and for the sleeves, I probably would’ve had to completely unwind the third ball and rewind the colors separately. 🤔 🤭 Or I might even have had to wind everything from the leftover skeins separately by color.😲
So this morning, while I was cooking, I unraveled everything—nicely sorted by color this time. And last night I already started a top-down raglan with one skein—a style I absolutely love😍.😂 But maybe… I’ll have to completely unwind a skein by color here too—so the sleeves match in color—what do you think? But let’s wait and see how it looks once the body starts to take shape. (I can always unravel it later. 🤣)
Do you ever feel this way, too—when everything’s almost done and then you realize you don’t like it after all? 😇🙄
Best regards, Regina
Hi Veronika, that’s some beautiful yarn you have there. I especially like the skein with the mixed shades of blue to green. And then right next to it, the three matching colors—oh, that’s a great combination. I’d definitely make a sweater out of it.🤭
Best regards, Regina

My husband brought me this little sloth from the flea market today—it was still in its original packaging and hadn’t been stuffed yet. Luckily, I still had some stuffing, and now it’s sitting on the floor lamp. 😄 That’s my weekend crafting for today. I still have to stuff a pelican and an owl—he brought those along too—still in their original condition.
Now I just need to get some stuffing 😉.
Oh dear, instead of finally “clearing some things out,” there’s just more and more.😲
Best regards, Regina
Wow, Veronika, those are such great colors. For me, the mountains of yarn just don’t seem to be getting any smaller either. Lots of yarn cakes are still waiting to become sweaters. I’ve got some UFOs, too. There’s also some cotton yarn in the drawer for amigurumi.
But today was Creative Day at the adult education center. We painted a gorgeous fall scene with oil paints. It was so much fun. I’ll try to upload it and then show it to you. It really helped me unwind. Now it just has to dry, and then I’ll find a nice spot for it on the wall.
Best wishes
Andrea
Here’s my photo

Wow, Andrea, what a beautiful picture you’ve painted—I really like it.<\/p>
Best wishes, Regina<\/p>
We haven’t been all that creative...
We’ve been hauling quite a few packed moving boxes over the last couple of days. My sister’s move is getting closer—her new apartment is all renovated except for the bathroom—things are coming along!
But it’s a lot of work…

In between, I’m going through her “collected treasures” that are supposed to be thrown out. It’s too emotional for her. But since photos and papers keep popping up here and there, they can’t just be thrown away. It’s really exciting to see what turns up—for example, an engraving set of mine that her kids ended up using later on.

I also keep coming across old projects I hadn’t thought about in ages.
The bees on the left are woven from raffia; the ones on the right are twisted from pipe cleaners.

It’s been a long time… and if it weren’t for that pungent basement smell, I’d probably try to fix one or two of them.

But these things have been sitting in the basement for at least 30 years, and most of them are now headed for the trash.
Also, her old kitchen cabinets have to move too—I’m in the middle of planning that right now. It’s been ages since I’ve planned a kitchen—I’m actually really enjoying it.

In between, we’ve been restoring some chairs for ourselves, and last week we found two small cabinets that match our 1960s shelving system.
We’re working on those right now, but more on that later.
I don’t have much time for yarn right now.
Kind regards, Claudia
Thank you, Regina.
It was fun—the instructor explained everything really well. My first oil painting.
Claudia, yes, moving is always stressful and a lot of work. I know how it is. But it’s nice when you still find “treasures” like that—all the things you’ve made over the years.
Dear Andrea, that’s a very atmospheric picture—the view through the colorful fall forest into the bright light; it almost looks mystical. Oil painting could very well become another hobby of yours.
Dear Claudia, oh dear, you poor thing. So much to do. It’s hard to believe how much stuff accumulates over 30 years of life when you keep everything. Unfortunately, you don’t have any time to dwell on things or get lost in memories. When you’re under pressure and have to get things done, there’s no time to dawdle. I wish you all continued energy and strength for the move.
Best regards, Ina
