Fat Cat CAL – We are crocheting an XXL cat together.

In September, we’re crocheting together! We’re going to crochet this adorable Fat Cat CAL together, a really big and cuddly cat that is guaranteed to be a real eye-catcher.

At approximately 16.5 inches long and 17.7 inches tall, Cal is anything but a small cat. She’s perfect for displaying, decorating, or of course, cuddling — for both kids and adults! The finished size may vary depending on the yarn you use.

The best part: We’ll crochet the CAL together step by step. Whether you’ve been crocheting for years or don’t have much experience yet, you can join in at your own pace.

Perfect for beginners, too! All you need are basic crochet skills (single crochet, increases, and decreases). You’ll also get a guided video with tips and tricks for all the individual pieces!

What does CAL – Crochet Along – mean?

CAL stands for “Crochet Along” and simply means that we crochet a project together.

The pattern is divided into individual sections and released step by step. This way, you can crochet along one part at a time and, in the end, have your very own Fat Cat CAL in your hands.

Here’s how it works:

4 weeks, 4 parts: A new part of the pattern for your cat will be released every Thursday.

Early-bird discount: If you join starting with Part 1, you’ll save 30–40% compared to the later individual price! With each additional part, the discount gets a little smaller.

No stress: When you purchase Part 1, you’ll automatically receive all the following parts during the CAL period and, at the end, the complete pattern.

After purchasing, Part 1 will be available on September 3rd.

This is how the CAL is structured:

A new part every Thursday

September 3 (Part 1): Back legs, front legs, and tail
September 10 (Part 2): The body
September 17 (Part 3): Ears and face
September 24 (Part 4): Putting everything together and finishing!

After the CAL is over, the complete e-book will of course be available in the shop as a regular purchase.

• Magic ring, single crochets, decreases and increases

• a length of approx. 16.5 inches (42 cm) and a height of approx. 17.7 inches (45 cm)

• main yarn (your choice):
  option 1: crochet hook US B (1); UK 12 (2,5 mm),
  5–6 balls of cotton yarn (50 g / 125 m; e.g., Catona, Crome)
  plus an extra color for the face, or
  option: 2 US C (2); UK 11 (3 mm), 6–7 balls of Stone Washed yarn (solid color and soft/cozy)
  … or simply your personal favorite yarn!
  make sure all colors are suitable for the same hook size
• additional materials:
  yarn scraps: white (eyes), pink (nose), black (whiskers and pupils)
  accessories: safety eyes (4.75-5.90 inches; 12–15 mm) and at least 500 g of toy stuffing
  optional: a little glue (not strictly necessary) for the beard
• sewing needle, scissors
