Community & Help
Dear community,
Have you recently, or ever, taken part in a KAL, CAL, SAL = Knit-Along, Crochet-Along, Sew-Along = crafting events where the pattern is downloaded in parts over a previously set period and then made, possibly together with a group? Was it fun?
I’m currently participating in the Fat Cat CAL. I still need to finish the snout and the eyes.
I joined the Midsommar Shawl CAL: 20 different lace patterns and 20 mini Bobbel in a color gradient from green through sand to blue. Despite all the color changes, I only had to weave in the first starting and ending ends, because all the ends in between were woven in as I went 😁 It turned out really beautiful.
I always find Mystery CALs really exciting and enjoy taking part, but I don’t have one going right now. I’m sure there are some running, but I was on vacation and so didn’t start any with them.
Honestly? 🤔 I’ve never done one—and probably never will. 🤭 Doing crafts within a specific timeframe just isn’t my thing at all. I do crafts when I feel like it, and there are days when I put it all aside for a while; on other days, it’s a lot of fun and I make good progress. So, like I said, when it comes to crafts, I need “my freedom”—with the pattern and, most importantly, with the time I set aside for it. 😇
You can do that too—you can just collect the individual parts of the pattern until you feel like it again. You don’t have to start knitting or crocheting right away; I just find it exciting to guess what it might turn out to be—at least with amigurumi.
Best regards
Veronika, who still forgets the signature....
Hi Veronika, that’s so sweet of you to explain it to me like that. I thought you were tied to a specific timeframe, so I guess I was wrong. 🤭
And yes, I often forget the signature too — it would be nice if we could preset it again.
Best, Regina
