The Star Simplicity doily is a beginner-friendly crochet pattern that impresses with its beautiful three-dimensional texture. The design resembles an intricately embossed or stamped ornament and looks equally stunning on both sides.
The star motif can be customized and expanded to suit your own ideas: whether you use it as a small window ornament, a tealight coaster, a classic star doily, a table runner, or even a large blanket – your creativity has no limits!
A versatile crochet project that can be made with just a few basic skills and offers countless possibilities for customization.
What’s Included? You will receive a detailed PDF crochet pattern featuring:
Detailed crochet charts
Comprehensive written instructions
Step-by-step photos to guide you
Diagrams and layout examples for three different table runners
The pattern is designed to be especially beginner-friendly. The star motif is worked in joined rounds without turning. However, the crochet charts are designed so that you can also follow them when turning your work. The chart symbols remain correctly oriented, allowing both sides of the motif to look identical. This way, you can focus entirely on crocheting and create your own beautiful star project, step by step.
The pattern includes the following size variations (diameter):
XS: approx. 20 cm
S: approx. 35 cm
M: approx. 50 cm
L: approx. 65 cm
XL: approx. 80 cm
XXL: approx. 95 cm
The star motif can also be expanded beyond these sizes – all the way to a large blanket!
Materials & Yarn Tips
Gradient yarn cake (3- or 4-strand)Cotton yarn and beautiful leftover yarnsCotton 8/4 (1 skein, 50 g / 160 m)For individual, larger star doilies, soft color gradients work particularly well, beautifully highlighting the raised texture of the pattern. For table runners made from several smaller stars, you can also use a large gradient yarn cake (approx. 800 m or more) and cut the yarn after completing each star.
Hook Tip: Using a crochet hook half a size larger than you normally would will help bring out the textured pattern beautifully. Slight rippling in the beginning will naturally even out after the first few rounds.
You are purchasing a digital PDF crochet pattern, not a finished crocheted item.
