Harris Tweed, Part 2

My hubby is a sweetheart—he just wished me a happy wedding anniversary and gave me a fabric bundle. :-) Honestly, I cried tears of joy when I opened the package and found inside what I’ve been wanting for so long—2 meters of the finest Harris Tweed. I’m so happy, I’m telling you. Now the search for a beautiful, classic sewing pattern begins, because only one like that will do justice to this tweed.

Of course, he saw firsthand how excited you were about your first smaller piece of Harris tweed. So it was surely a joy for him to secretly get some for you. Your daughter, who’s skilled at sewing, probably helped him with that.

I can understand your excitement. A fabric like that is something truly special. I hope you have lots of fun finding the right sewing pattern for it.

I’m so happy for you—I can totally imagine how you felt.
A gem of a husband like that—that’s the greatest stroke of luck in life. I’ve been enjoying this happiness since 1988 and am grateful for it every day.

I was in town today and picked up the rest of the supplies for the jacket: lining fabric, interfacing, and buttons—because I want to use toggle buttons. I actually wanted a darker green for the lining, but unfortunately they only had just under a meter left—way too little—but this one works pretty well, too.

Just wanted to give you an update on how far along I am :-)
So, the main body of the jacket is done; tomorrow I’ll work on the lining, which still needs to be fitted and sewn, but I’m taking it one
