Thanks, Josefa—I wish that for you and everyone else here, too: a lovely and, above all, sunny weekend. :-)
We—that is, my husband and I—will be celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary tomorrow, just the two of us at home, in a cozy way. Other than that, we’ll see what comes our way, since going out isn’t really an option for us anymore.
Thank you—I hope the same for everyone here, and a happy wedding anniversary to both of you, Inge! We celebrated our 32nd anniversary in March.
We’ll be doing crafts and reading, because—oh, what a surprise—the weekend is completely rained out once again. Yesterday was lovely, so I actually spent a good hour out and about, but today it’s been pouring heavily all day, and that’s not likely to change anytime soon.
The Rhineland, and right here the Cologne Basin, is considered very fertile, which of course is due to plenty of water. But in recent years, it feels like there’s been more and more of it. Not only does it rain almost every day, but the amounts are always enormous.
So we won’t be drying up here anytime soon; there’s no point in cleaning the windows anymore, and it doesn’t really stand out, but—yes—it does have some real positive sides too.
Hey Inge, looks like we have our “wedding anniversary” on the same day. That’s crazy. Well then, I wish the two of you a nice, quiet day as well.
Tomorrow we’re celebrating our 6th anniversary after 13 years together.
We’re just going out to eat with my parents at “Kartoffelkäfer.” We’ve already reserved a table.
Maybe we’ll take a little walk along the water afterward, depending on the weather.
We’ve been in Potsdam for three days now—went to the movies again, visited the Natural History Museum… just a little break from the daily grind.
Congratulations to Inge and Andrea—today marks 23 years of marriage for me, plus 9 wild ones before that… seems to be a popular date.
We’ve been working hard these past few weeks—restoring and refurbishing two small cabinets from the ’60s and then renovating the living room—so this weekend is all about relaxation.
Hopefully the weather will be nice enough for long walks… after that, we’ll continue our search for shelves that match our new-old decor.
Congratulations 💐🥂 to Inge, Andrea, and Claudia on their wedding anniversaries! We didn’t quite “manage” to get married in May 😉; for us, it will be 30 years on June 1…. Today we’re celebrating our former maid of honor’s birthday 🎂—hopefully in dry weather in her gorgeous garden 🪴
Wishing everyone in the forum a wonderful and relaxing weekend, and you too, dear Josefa!
I’d also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations (once again) to Inge, as well as to Andrea and Claudia. It’s really something that all three of you have your wedding anniversaries on the same day. For us, it’s July 24—that’s when we’ll have been together for 36 years, 32 of them married. The best time of my life!
To everyone stopping by here, I wish you a wonderful weekend with plenty of sunshine and warmth. It’s raining here today, so I’m back at the computer again. Tomorrow, I’ll be working in the garden in the sunshine.
Hello, my dears, this wedding anniversary was really just a continuation of what we’d already been living for over 8 years, because on March 19, it had been 42 years since the two of us started living together and became a committed couple. :-) After just about 6 weeks, we knew we were meant to be together for the rest of our lives :-)—and that’s now been 42 years. Everyone around us, including both of our families, gave us at most 1–2 years :-)))))))))))))) We proved them all wrong!! Because when we met, my divorce from my ex was just entering its final stages, I had three kids aged 10 1/2, 8, and 6 in tow, and my hubby is 5 years younger than me. We let them all talk and did our own thing—and we’ve kept it up to this day and hopefully for many years to come.
And congratulations to everyone else on their wedding anniversary!
We thought we were being really clever back then and got married on Ash Wednesday, but then realized a year later that we still had to remember the date! 🤣
Similar to Inge, we were already a couple while my divorce was still pending; we moved in together after just three months of dating and have never regretted it.
I lived with my ex for six years before we got married—it didn’t do any good anyway—so you can definitely cut that short if you feel secure in your relationship.
