Oh wow, Veronika, that’s really something special. The furniture reminds me of my favorite aunt’s—I used to love visiting her. There are so many little details to look at in yours, too. Even a birdcage! The curtains, the wallpaper, the rug... simply enchanting. And then, of course, the little bears. It’s a shame I don’t have my dollhouse anymore. My dad had built and wallpapered it himself back then. My mom sewed the curtains and the bedding. Sigh...

What could be nicer than handmaking new clothes for a doll mommy’s favorite? For me, it’s always a highlight. My two granddaughters keep asking for new clothes, and of course they’ll get some from me for Christmas too.

How about this colorful knitted cardigan in a mix of patterns? It is worked with raglan from the top down, using various colorful leftovers. There is also a matching hat in the same colors, which is very easy to knit.

The clothing fits dolls measuring 43-50 cm.

You can make a toddler very happy with this sleeping bag for a stuffed animal or a doll up to 20 cm tall. Maybe there’ll even be a new doll or teddy inside it under the Christmas tree?

With the pattern, you can knit two different sleeping bags. Both are also suitable for beginners. The sleeping bags are easy for toddlers to put on and take off.

Oh yes, I remember that too, even though—thankfully—it was only for a short time. I hated it and was glad when pantyhose came along later. My mom, though, kept wearing her stockings with garters for quite a while. I never understood that.

The sun has been shining here the last few days, though not as much today—but it was still pleasant outside. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit cloudy and rainy, but Sunday will be nice again. We’re planning to take a long walk in the woods and go to the flea market at noon. I’m really looking forward to that—I’ve missed it for the past two years.

A baby who’s just starting to crawl needs warm winter clothes that are comfortable and can still accommodate a thick diaper. Leggings are just the thing.

These leggings are knitted from sock yarn and fit the body perfectly. Yes, they even grow with the baby for a while. My granddaughter wore them when she was a few months old and still wore them at age 2. At first, they are folded up at the bottom.

The leggings are quite easy to knit if you have some knitting experience.

Yeah, I’d like to know that, too. In any case, all your designs are beautiful, Inge. They really remind me of my mom back in the day.

You can make a child who is a doll mom with a doll baby (43–50 cm) very happy with a crocheted diaper like this. One will definitely not be enough. And that’s how lots of colorful leftover yarn turns into pretty diapers. Toddlers can handle them wonderfully too, since the diaper has Velcro closures.

It’s very easy to make.

And my first granddaughter shares my birthday—the second was born two days after my husband’s birthday. We both think that’s great.

Brand new in my shop is this cute little summer hat for dolls. It’s easy for beginners to make and a great project for using up leftover yarn.

We have a public holiday today—I only really realized it this morning when I was about to put the trash bin out. As retirees, these things somehow just pass us by.

I’m also only taking day trips to nearby areas. With gas prices what they are, I’m not planning any longer drives. Plus, our garden needs tending.

In September, we’re heading to Lake Constance for a family gathering, but only for a few days.

Yes, dear Mona, I’ll definitely wait until the flowers come out. But thanks for the tip. :) I’m already being careful, but we can eat most of what’s in our garden—there are lots of wild plants that we’re grateful for.

Irene, if that turns out to be horseradish, that would be a little miracle. I’m wondering how it got there. The evening primroses are growing back on the lawn now, too—unfortunately, we mowed them down along with the rest. And they look exactly the same. By the way, you can eat every part of the evening primrose, even the seed pods later on. They’re very healthy—it’s a medicinal plant.

I’ll definitely let you know and post a photo here as soon as the flowers bloom.

Yeah, exactly—it reminds me of Mr. Bean’s teddy bear, too. I always thought it was really cute. Inge, yours looks really friendly, too.

Ruth, I love stuffed animals just as much, especially teddy bears.
Veronika, I found Zotty in my swap group once, and he was mine right away.

Oh, Marion, it just occurred to me that there used to be a movie called “Cheaper by the Dozen.” Who knows… but I definitely don’t plan on filling out the dozen just yet.

It’s funny that my husband is having fun with Lara, too. I’m currently knitting for her. He keeps pressing her tummy so she makes noises. So cute! When my granddaughters come to visit, they’ll have a blast. By the way, Juna was really happy about her baby and plays with it a lot. And Linja got the older doll, the boy. He spends a lot of time sitting on the potty now. It’s totally cute how the two of them play with their babies.

What I’m still looking for for Linja is a bottle that you can fill with water and that has a tip on the front that fits into the doll’s mouth. That would be a huge hit with Linja.

That’s so funny, Marlies, that your friend is interested in the little dresses. It’s so nice, now that we’re this age, to make up for what we didn’t have back then—at least not the way we do today.
