Harris Tweed. 3. The jacket is sewn :-)

So, my jacket is finally done. It was a lot of work, and at some points I really had to pause for a moment and think, “How did that go again?” ;-) :-) But it’s another custom-made piece for me :-)
Thankfully, once something’s firmly stored in your head, you can always recall it :-) If I look a little grumpy in the picture, it’s because the jacket is really, really warm—I was sweating buckets by the time Göga took the picture.

Love, Inge

Really great, Inge! I think the slightly rustic-inspired cut goes very well with that gorgeous tweed. The stylish fasteners, plus the collar—it looks very professional. And it’s tailor-made, too. Add a matching scarf and hat, and you’ll be all set for going out this fall and winter.

I’m so glad you turned that precious fabric gift from your Gögo into something so beautiful for yourself. But you’ll still have to wait a few months before you can show off the jacket in all its glory… unless we get a “harsh summer” :-)

Enjoy your new Harris Tweed jacket very much. What a beautiful piece!

Best wishes, Ina

Wow, that’s a really stylish piece! Thank you so much for sticking it out until the photo was “in the can.”

I’m sure you got an ice cream as a reward for that!

**I’m sure there was ice cream as a reward for that! **
Of course, Veronika—and homemade ice cream, too. I just picked up some ingredients today to make a new batch :-)
Thanks to all of you for the compliments, and yes, it was fun sewing the jacket, but I won’t be touching the sewing machine for a while—I can barely see the eye of the needle when I have to rethread it. I probably won’t be able to use the machine before September, more likely later.
I can still do a little embroidery, and knitting is still possible too, so thankfully I’m not completely idle right now :-)
I’m having cataract surgery on August 6, and that pesky cataract is already getting pretty bad in my eyes and affecting my vision :-(

Love, Inge

Homemade ice cream as a reward.....I volunteer as a model 😄.

I’m already wishing you a smooth and successful surgery.

It’s a shame that you won’t be able to sew for such a long time. Good thing you’re versatile and can keep yourself busy with other things.

Best regards
Karola

The jacket turned out great 👍
I could really use one like that here.
We’re freezing our butts off here. All the best for your eye surgery. Afterward, you’ll be able to see like an eagle again.
Best regards, Marita
