Thanks, Josefa. I wish you and everyone here a wonderful weekend too—and if possible, without everything being flooded. We’re a bit lucky here in that we’ll only be grazed by these heavy rain clouds, if I can trust the weather radar.
I plan to keep recovering from my cold, because I caught a nasty cough this week—I only wonder where and how. That’s also why I’m not making any progress on my Harris Tweed jacket, because as long as I’m not fit, I won’t lift a finger on it. It’s been lying fully cut out on my work table since Tuesday, but there it sits, as we always say in Bavaria in cases like this :-) ;-)
Thanks, I wish the same for both of you and everyone else here too!
It’s actually dry here! Yippee! I just went ahead and deadheaded the balcony flowers—the poor things are still waiting for some sunshine. Luckily, all the pots and planters have plenty of holes; otherwise, everything would already be waterlogged. The basil and raspberries are acting up a bit—they really aren’t made for this kind of weather—but everything else is doing surprisingly well.
Other than that, I’m crocheting, reading, and I’ve already baked a cake. Tomorrow evening I’m going out again, though it probably won’t be beer garden weather—it’s more likely to rain again. But that’s not so bad—the western regions are off the hook with the current warnings; it’s just raining there as usual.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for everyone in the affected areas that it won’t get too bad! Stay healthy and take care of yourselves!
It’s been raining nonstop here all day. Since I have to put all our luggage away again, it doesn’t matter today. Some sunshine tomorrow would be nice for the garden, but it’s supposed to keep raining here, and heavy rain is expected. I hope the rivers stay within their banks.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing weekend from me, too.
Thank you so much, and I, too, wish everyone a weekend where everything goes well.
Ingr, I hope you feel better soon!
It’s pouring rain here, and it’s supposed to last until Monday. But since we live on a mountain, we’re still doing pretty well. I’m looking forward to warmth and sunshine—it’s supposed to really kick in starting Wednesday.
Until then, we’ll make ourselves cozy indoors. Crafting works in any weather, after all.
Things turned out just as I expected here—thankfully, we got off easy once again; nothing too bad happened. There was lightning and thunder about 2–3 times during the night, but the heavy rain that was forecast never came. We had steady rain that gave everything a good soaking—thankfully, that was all it was here.
Last night I was out with a friend, and we almost had to stop on the highway because it was raining so hard. Just 20 km further on, it had cleared up completely—even a bit of sun came out. It was really crazy.
But what you see on the news from southern Germany is pretty intense!
Fortunately, here in central Germany, everything is still “under control.” We’ve had heavy rain now and then, some clouds, and today it’s sunny and windy—and warm and humid.
No major flooding.
