The advantage of colorful handmade projects is not only their cheerful look at the end, but also that you won’t get bored while knitting and crocheting. New colors again and again create an ever-changing look. It’s really fun! Here are two examples from me. I hope you enjoy making them.

Colorful Craft Bucket

Here you can bring out all your colorful leftover balls of yarn and work them in. The more colorful, the better. You can make the craft bucket in 3 different sizes. Inside, there’s a standard plastic bucket hidden away. Around the outside, the pockets offer plenty of space for your tools. And your current crochet project goes in the bucket. That way you always have everything together and can easily carry it from A to B.






Heart Pillow

This pillow comes to life through its bright colors and shapes. Pick out a few colors that harmonize well with each other. We crochet lots of hexagons, which we then crochet together. The pillow is stuffed with washable stuffing. This makes it soft, keeps its heart shape, and it can be washed if needed.

For the African Flowers makeup bag, I worked with 4 different colors. The pouch consists of individual hexagons that are sewn or crocheted together at the end. Since you only need 35 g of the main color (red in this case) and just 15 g each of the other colors of cotton yarn, this little project is perfect for using up leftover skeins.



A temperature blanket is an exciting project that will keep you busy for a whole year. Each day, you crochet or knit just one row. The color of the row is determined by the temperature on that particular day. You can choose which colors correspond to which temperature ranges. The color sequence, however, is random and depends solely on how warm or cold it is.

A crocheted train set is a very special decorative piece, but it’s also great for playing—especially for small children who aren’t yet ready to handle an electric train set. That’s why the cars are large enough to carry little dolls about 10 cm tall. Design the locomotive and each car in a different color—the more colorful, the happier!

You can dress up dolls very nicely with colorful scraps—for example, with this set consisting of a skirt, top, and headband. It fits dolls that are 40–50 cm tall.

This alphabet looks especially beautiful with colorful translucent paper. The window decoration is a great fit for a child's room and can even be used when learning to read.



The individual letters here are approx. 13.6 to approx. 14.5 cm tall and made from photo cardstock and translucent paper. This decoration is very easy to craft and also well suited for beginners.

You need 3 different colors to make the potholders.

Only with 3 colors do you get this pattern.

With 2 colors it becomes striped; with 4 colors it looks different again.
