We’ll have a cozy dinner for two and then play games—no TV. We have plenty of CDs to listen to. I think it’s great that fireworks aren’t allowed to be sold this year. It’s great for the environment and for the animals.

Do you have leftover cotton yarn? Then you can use it wonderfully for colorful dishcloths or washcloths. That way, you’ll always have a small gift or little present on hand at the same time.

I really like bouclé yarn, too. Yes, the little knots make it a bit thicker to work with, but that actually has its advantages. With this yarn, there are sometimes thinner spots in the yarn and sometimes thicker ones, which I find very varied. That way, knitting never gets boring.

Yes, I think it’s really nice and cozy, too—it just makes you want to put it on right away. Once it’s filled, it’s sure to bring joy to the grandkids.

Marlies, my husband loves everything I cook and bake. That’s not the problem. Buuut—today I finally got around to baking the sheet gingerbread. It just came out of the oven, and the chocolate glaze still needs to dry. After dinner, we’ll have one or two pieces for dessert. I’m already looking forward to it!

Your tips are all great. I can relate to them, too.

If the ball is big enough, I fold the label so tightly and small that I can tuck it inside the ball. So far, that’s always worked. Or I put it in a bag and add a piece of paper or the label. That’s the best solution for me, and it keeps the yarn nice and tidy.

Another option would be to take a strand from the ball of yarn, thread a needle through the label, and then tie a knot. That way, the two are securely fastened together.

For large numbers of balls, the best solution for me is to put them in different compartments with a note inside each one. I’ve had good results with this so far.

4- to 5-year-olds are sure to feel comfortable in such a cuddly-soft sweater made from sock yarn. The collar also keeps the neck nice and warm.

We had this pest two years ago, too, and it cost many people their boxwood trees. Since last year, they’ve recovered, because our birds have discovered the caterpillars as their new delicacy. We’ve seen them coming out of the bushes with the caterpillars. Since then, at least the boxwoods here all look fully recovered again.

I love teddy bears, so of course I lovingly dressed my teddies. Here are a few designs that are easy to make with leftover yarn.

I really enjoy knitting with the raglan method because the garments always fit well, and best of all, there are no seams. When you continue knitting the body, the sleeves are set aside and then simply knitted into the body. However, I have to admit that figuring out the calculations is always a bit of a challenge.

A gauge swatch is an absolute must, and you also need to measure the desired neck circumference.

Your teddy bear is so cute and cuddly, Inge. It’s sure to be a dear comfort to a child.

It’s great when you can do something like that. I always admired my mom for that, too. Everything just the way you like it. You hardly ever find that in ready-made clothes. Nicely done, Inge!
