We’re having another summery weekend down here in the south, with plenty of sun and warmth. So, of course, we’re enjoying the garden. It’s also a great place to knit.

Yes, it’s supposed to be really nice. It’s already warm today, but still overcast; a little sun would be great. Then I’ll be crocheting on the balcony!
I’ve already got everything ready for the summer flowers; here, you can plant some things even before the Ice Saints, since winter was hardly frosty at all. The Rhineland is often very wet, but it’s usually very mild as well.

I planted three of my flower boxes yesterday; I put in wildflowers and sunflowers again. The fourth box still needs to be planted too, but I need some more potting soil for that. I’ll get it at the end of the month and get the box ready.
Something is brewing with the weather. I can barely walk today, let alone get up from my chair, my left knee hurts so much—which is what always happens when the weather changes. So I’m staying home and knitting my blanket.

After taking our grandson, who’s on school break, on a bike ride to the lake for a picnic this morning, I spent this afternoon pruning our huge juniper tree. I had to cut quite a bit off, but I want it to still look nice. Pruning an old juniper isn’t exactly easy—it probably won’t sprout new growth from those old branches anymore. We’ll see.....

Tomorrow we’re heading to Illertissen for the flea market. I’m really looking forward to it.

The weather is supposed to be good again—or at least stay that way—on Sunday, so I’m hoping to have time for some crafts, but I’ve also got a good book ready to read. We’ll see.
