Loving handmade gifts don’t have to be expensive, because you can crochet many things from leftover yarn.



A pretty crocheted beaded bracelet is quick to make. You can tailor it to your mom’s taste and wardrobe, so she’s sure to enjoy wearing it.



Dad is sure to have a lot of fun with the “Oktoberfest” keychain, especially if he appreciates a tasty beer and a good snack.



And here’s something else you can use to make both of them happy: The heart with 2 little bears expresses your love for your parents and their bond with each other. Since Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are only a few days apart this year, you can give them both one of these little hearts as a joint gift.

Something that’s always well received is this tissue box with butterflies and hearts as decoration. This way, tissues can be kept within easy reach anywhere, even on the dining table. I’ve crocheted and given away many of these already. They were received with great appreciation.

To the crochet pattern

Why not surprise your parents with some homemade chocolates? You can also make the perfect packaging for them yourself.



This chocolate box is small and compact, but still large enough for 11 chocolates measuring 3–3.5 cm. It is made from photo cardstock and measures approx. 12 x 11 cm. The template for the decorative paper can be downloaded together with the instructions.

For Mother’s Day, it’s perfectly okay to tell Mom again that she’s the best—for example, with this cloth, which can be used as a washcloth, dishcloth, or potholder depending on the yarn. It’s knitted in double-face, so both sides look great.
