Without a heel, socks can be worn longer—that is, across multiple sizes—since they grow with the foot to some extent. Great for our kids or when we want to knit guest socks. 

You can knit so many things with sock yarn—for example, this slipover that fits children ages 6 and up. It keeps the body nice and warm while allowing plenty of freedom of movement for the arms. Ideal for transitional weather and cool summer evenings.
