I don’t know of any expiration date either, but I’ve had a pattern disappear at some point—the author had apparently deactivated her account here. I’d already finished the project but couldn’t write a review because the pattern was no longer available. And then, at some point, it disappeared from the downloads as well.
If you’d like to contact Support, you’re welcome to do so. If you’d like me to ask the tech support team for advice, I can do that too. It’s up to you. I’m open to all possible solutions.
The next time you get this error message, it would be really important to know which pattern it’s happening with. Without that information, the tech team can’t resolve the issue.

I don’t actually get an error message. It’s more that I’ve bought several patterns over the years, and some of them are apparently no longer available to me (though the patterns and sellers still exist).

Anywhere the status is highlighted in brown, I can no longer access it, and I’d like to know why.

The patterns with the brown “expired” button remained in the shopping cart = the purchase/payment process was started but not completed, so you cannot download the patterns.
Did you have a technical problem or did you cancel the process?

Can you click the “To Download” button? The file download should actually still work.
