Last night there were auroras over the Black Forest! It was magical! Did you see them, too?

@petra, it was unbelievably beautiful! I’ve never seen anything like it before, especially not in southern Germany! And it was pretty late—or rather, early—last night! Luckily, it’s the weekend… 😉

What do you mean by “late” or “early”? What time does it all happen? 

I just heard about these lights on the radio. They’re very rare over Germany and occur when there are very strong solar storms.

I missed it.

@Petra, we watched between midnight and 2:30 a.m. But they must have been visible even earlier, because my husband started getting lots of WhatsApp messages with photos starting at 11 p.m. So let’s stay up late tonight—maybe we’ll get lucky and see them again!

Wow, “magical” is the perfect word—unfortunately, I didn’t know about it either… but maybe I’ll get lucky tonight and see something, and I’ll be able to take a beautiful photo like that, too.

That looks beautiful. We had a similar spectacle here in southeastern Bavaria yesterday, too. But unfortunately, I missed it because I didn’t look outside. Will it happen today, too? I don’t know...

Yesterday at noon, I got some pictures from a friend. They were clearly visible here, too. Simply breathtaking.

She took the photos after midnight—her little baby was crying, and she happened to see them then.

I woke up at 3:30 a.m. tonight, but unfortunately there was nothing to see.

We stayed up late, but there was nothing to see in Cologne.

Unfortunately, we didn’t see anything here in northern Germany either. I would have loved to see them.
