Crazy Patchwork

With crazy patchwork, you don’t have to cut the fabrics precisely; instead, you can cut them however you like—diagonally, crosswise, etc. But you should always make sure that the whole piece still has a direction, otherwise it becomes problematic and won’t fit together the way you intended. I once sewed a backpack using the crazy patchwork technique, and now one of my daughters has it, too :-)

A backpack this original is a real eye-catcher! Each one is one-of-a-kind. But for a backpack, it’s not enough to just sew fabrics together—there’s more skill involved than that.

I like that you used mostly shades of blue and beige. That way, despite the variety of patterns, there’s an overall sense of harmony. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the fabrics go together really well—which isn’t always the case with leftover scraps. The backpack is really great!
