Patchwork as Recycling

I had a whole bunch of shopping bags I’d sewn myself, and at some point I just had too many. So I took them all apart, cut the pieces I wanted to use to a uniform size, and sewed them together into a quilt. The quilt was still warm from the sewing machine when one of my daughters snatched it up and said, “This fits perfectly in my car!” :-)
As you can see, you can sew a quilt out of scraps like these, too.

What a labor of love, dear Inge! And everything’s sewn so precisely—every square is exactly the same size as the one next to it. You can always tell you’re dealing with a pro. And now you don’t have any shopping bags left at all ;-)

You can say that again, Veronika 😁 😁 I never run out of these bags, even though some of them are always moving out.

The quilt turned out great. I can see why your daughter liked it right away. 

Another great piece. Inge, you always come up with new ideas for turning old things into something new, so to speak. I like doing that too, and I already have some ideas of my own...
