Well then, officially once again: all the best :-)

This knitted stole looks especially good in colorful gradient yarn, with long color changes that are fun to knit, too.
My original is made from Alize Cotton Gold Batik (a cotton-blend yarn with 329 m per 100 g), but of course you can use other yarns as well. You should plan for at least 600 m.
The stole is knitted in brioche stitch. The photos show exactly how it’s done.

I haven’t shown you my double-knit infinity scarf yet. It was inspired by works of art that I saw a long time ago on a trip to France.
It is knitted with sock yarn; the amount needed depends on the length. I would estimate about 260 m of each color for an infinity scarf, but you can also use the pattern in the same way to knit a scarf. Basic knowledge of double knitting is required.

The night sky is always inspiring. I find it especially beautiful on mild summer nights, when the heat of the day has given way to the coolness of the evening. Summer is also when you see the most shooting stars. That’s probably because we spend more time outside in summer. For anyone interested—the next few days (May 5 and 6) are expected to bring a meteor shower, so let’s hope we get to see something :-) Then we can make a wish :-)
When you’re sitting outside like that and looking up at the sky, it can naturally get chilly pretty quickly, and that’s when a warming shawl comes in handy. Perfect for the night, here is the Nite Flite stole.



It is knitted with sock yarn, preferably in black, but of course you can also use other colors. What makes it special is that it is knitted lengthwise and can therefore be adjusted to any width, depending on your personal preference. You start with a lace-pattern border, then continue in simple ribbing until you reach the desired size. The yarn usage depends on the size; it is knitted on 4 mm needles.

Colorful and in cheerful shades, this shopping bag is knitted up quickly in thick cotton. You can play with colors and design the bag just the way you like it.
What you need to know: knitting in the round and a simple slip-stitch pattern (really not hard, I promise). And what you need: 2 balls of the main color, 1 ball of the contrasting color, each in cotton with approx. 69 m per 50 g.

You can easily make a pair of wrist warmers in one weekend, especially a long one. These ones are easy and fun. You’ll need 3 mm knitting needles and 4-ply sock yarn, about 90 m of it—so if you have some left over from a pair of socks, that could work out.
How to make the little holes is explained step by step with pictures; otherwise, there are no difficulties in the pattern.

There’s lots of knitting time this weekend, either during a relaxed evening in front of the TV or, for those blessed with good weather, outside in the garden or on the balcony. How about a shoulder wrap?

But Snow White grew up and became more and more beautiful, and by the time she was seven years old, she was as beautiful as the bright day and more beautiful than the queen herself. Once, when the queen asked her mirror: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest in all the land?” it replied: “My queen, you are the fairest here, but Snow White is a thousand times fairer than you.”

To match, there is a Snow White shawl. It is knitted from 4-ply sock yarn. You need about 350 m of the main color, plus a leftover amount (about 70 m) of a contrasting color. That is enough for a shawl with a span of 150 cm; if you want a larger shawl, you should allow for more. It is knitted on 4 mm needles.

The bag itself isn’t difficult to knit—you should have a bit of practice with two-color knitting, but you don’t have to be a pro.
You’ll knit with cotton yarn (125 m per 50 g), one skein of each color, using a 3 mm circular needle. The handles are then crocheted; for this, you’ll need a crochet hook of the same size. You might also want a snap button for the closure, and if you’d like to line the bag, you’ll need some lining fabric as well.

In keeping with the current weather, I also have this hat featuring a sky-blue winter sky to offer. It’s knitted, with the two-color pattern shown in a knitting chart.
For this, you’ll need yarn in two different colors—preferably white and blue—with a yardage of about 150m per 50g, and a set of 3.5mm double-pointed needles or a circular needle.

This scarf is sky blue and is made using both knitting and crochet. Of course, you’re welcome to use other colors as well.
The long section is knitted lengthwise in a drop-stitch pattern, and the fringed ends are crocheted on afterward. It’s a pretty scarf even without the ends, but with them, it gives off a bit of a hippie-boho feel.
It’s knitted using thick cotton yarn (69 m per 50 g) with 5 mm knitting needles, which guarantees a quick sense of accomplishment. If you’d like to crochet as well, you’ll also need a suitable crochet hook.

A charming little bag with knitted-in hearts is quick to make and is sure to delight any mother. It works well for wrapping small gifts inside, but it also looks lovely on its own.

Don’t be afraid—just give it a try. That’s my tip. If you’ve never crocheted before and don’t know anyone who could show you how, get a book that explains how to do the different stitches, or check out tutorials online, and then make something you really want to make. If that’s a pot holder, then make a pot holder, and if it’s a sweater, then make a sweater. Go for it!

A warming shawl in the evening isn’t a bad idea even in summer, when night falls and you want to sit outside and look at the stars. Snuggle into it and enjoy the evening.
Here is a light triangular shawl—easy to knit and also light in weight, because it’s knitted from sock yarn.
All you need to know are knit and purl stitches and simple lace stitches—really no witchcraft! One skein of sock yarn is needed for it.

The advantage of this is that you can stop at any time—either when you think it’s wide enough or when you run out of yarn.

I’m more of a knitter, but lately I’ve been enjoying picking up a crochet hook every now and then. I learned to crochet from my grandma when I was a little kid. Her whole apartment was full of crocheted doilies, and I wanted to be able to do that too. Whenever I crochet, I always get really nostalgic :-)

With a song on your lips, everything feels easier, as they say :-) At least that’s how it was for me when this scarf was created. I had to keep singing to myself the whole time. "Oh when the saints go marching in". But don’t start laughing now.
The scarf is knitted using the double-face technique—not exactly easy; you should already have some experience with the technique. What keeps impressing me about it is that both sides simply look great; the colors are just mirrored.
For this, you need yarn with a yardage of 150 m per 50 g, 4 balls of each color (if you want to be on the safe side, plan on 5 balls) and 3 mm knitting needles.

The Snow White Shawl is a triangular shawl with a lace pattern. It’s knitted using 4-ply sock yarn in two colors; you’ll need about 350m of the main color and about 70m of the contrasting color for the stripe, assuming the shawl is to have a 150cm span as specified in the pattern—the size can easily be adjusted to suit your personal preferences. In that case, “increase 3 sc” means you crochet three single crochets into one single crochet—that’s how the increases work out. So you do the part between the asterisks three times in total, followed by what comes next. But something’s still off with the stitch count. Is there maybe a chain stitch at the beginning of the round that counts as the first stitch?

This summer scarf, knitted from cotton yarn and featuring large openwork sections for a very airy look, is the perfect companion for cool summer evenings.

So we’ve been spared the snow for now, but it’s freezing cold!

Mainly the sense of calm it brings. When I knit, I feel completely at peace with myself.
But I also love the beautiful pieces that result from it. When you think about it, there aren’t actually that many different stitches, but they can be combined in practically endless ways, and something new always comes out of it—that’s truly fascinating.

Snow down to 400 m above sea level is forecast. That means us once again, and once again it’s time to bundle up warmly. A knitted infinity scarf certainly can’t hurt.

A wedding is all well and good, but afterward it gets down to the nitty-gritty. A household is being set up, the young couple often has to furnish everything from scratch, they’re short of all kinds of things—in short, the bride and groom are happy to receive gifts. Often it’s money or useful items like kitchen machines, vacuum cleaners, pots, and things like that—of course they can use those. But if there’s also a little handmade something extra, then the whole thing becomes a bit more personal.

I’m one of those people who still knits even in the worst heat. And I simply can’t walk past yarn shops.
But I do think to myself that if I did this from morning to night without any other activities, it might not be as enjoyable anymore. For me, the biggest appeal is the relaxing effect, but if I’m relaxing all day long, what will I be relaxing from in the evening? So, in short, I just can’t knit nonstop.

I really like it—I also enjoy wearing those almost floor-length, wide skirts, and I’m really into the bags, too. But I definitely don’t like being decked out in all kinds of hippie trinkets.

I’ll admit it—I’ve started a few new UFOs.

While a potholder certainly falls into the "useful" category, it can also be quite decorative and an ornament for the kitchen, especially if it has hearts knitted into it.
It is knitted from cotton using the double-face technique (not suitable for knitting beginners). The special thing about this technique is that the motifs are practically mirrored on the back, which means there is no front and back - both sides look equally good. You need one ball of cotton in each color for this (leftovers are also great for it; 50 m of each color should be enough), plus knitting needles that are slightly thinner than those specified on the label. The edge is finished with a crocheted border, so you will also need a crochet hook for it.
The finished product can then also be used as a dishcloth - which makes washing up much more enjoyable.

In a rich wine red mixed with white, this knitted hat is done in a gingham pattern. But of course, you can also use other colors :-)
The pattern is not intended for knitting beginners, but it may be suitable as an introduction to two-color knitting.
I knitted it in a wool/nylon blend yarn with a yardage of 114 m per 50 g. It should be something comparable. Yarn required: 1 ball of each color, possibly 2 balls of the main color for the largest size. You will also need a 4 mm set of double-pointed needles or a circular needle.
The pattern comes in four different sizes, from children's to large adult size, and it is definitely suitable for men as well.

I’d also like to recommend a knitting pattern for a hat with buttons. It is knitted flat and in rows, and only joined into a round later.
For this, you need yarn with a yardage of approx. 85 m per 50 g and 5 mm knitting needles. You’ll also need 2–3 buttons (depending on the size being knitted). The pattern is available in four different sizes, from children’s to large adult size.
