Dear Austrians,
How’s the weather where you are? If it’s just as cold and gray there, then I’ve got some space here in this thread for your relaxing craft projects.
How about a warm bath followed by a few craft projects?
Then you won’t miss your Easter walk quite as much.

I think you shouldn’t let your anticipation of summer be spoiled; here you can see my summer scarf. What’s special about it is that it is both knitted and crocheted. The scarf itself is knitted in a drop-stitch pattern, and the ends with the fringes are crocheted.
The scarf is made from cotton with a yardage of 69 m per 50 g — of course, you can use other yarns too. You’ll also need a 5 mm circular knitting needle (because of the length) and a 6 mm crochet hook.

There’s nothing here that you don’t need!
In the morning and evening, it can be very nice to wear a matching hat with your shoulder warmer.

This duo works up quickly. The accent determines the color combo.

Since in April my flowers keep getting covered by snow, I crocheted some for myself.

The flower children stay fresh and pretty to look at, even in April weather.


Little Primrose and Little Bell, the  daffodil or the little rose are a few of my flower children.

Maybe add a few gnomes, like Emilia Strawberry or Flora and Florian , and spring has already moved into your home

Snowflakes, little white skirts—that’s what rings in my ears when I look out the window. I’d love to have it like that for Christmas!

But since I’m already so eager for spring, and since the little kittens are being born, I’ve got a few here that you can whip up really quickly for your home.

This little cat is quick to crochet using leftover yarn and a size 2.5 crochet hook. Use an empty Kinder Surprise egg capsule or stuffing for the belly. And just like that, these little velvet paws will be adding a splash of color to your home too!

I just got caught in a snow flurry, the wind is howling, and everyone is bundled up like it’s the middle of winter.
To go with that, I have an infinity scarf here that’s just right for this weather. It is knitted from sock yarn in two colors; it is a long tube that is then sewn together at the ends. This makes it double-layered and look just as good on the inside as on the outside.
It is knitted on a 4 mm circular knitting needle; yarn usage is three 50 g skeins of color A for the mesh pattern and one 50 g skein of color B for the rest.

Today the sun is finally shining again. The flowers are happy about that, too—they’re lifting their little heads back up after being quite wilted these past few days.
Let’s go for a walk in the woods. It’s not quite warm yet, so you could still use something cozy around your shoulders. A woolly shawl is just the thing—knitted in a beautiful lace pattern so even the squirrels will admire you :-)
You’ll need 4–5 skeins of merino wool (160 m per 50 g)—the amount needed depends on the desired length—and 3.5 mm knitting needles. That’s all there is to it—then you can get started.

Snow down to 400 m above sea level is forecast. That means us once again, and once again it’s time to bundle up warmly. A knitted infinity scarf certainly can’t hurt.



It is knitted in the round using 4-ply sock yarn, with 3 mm needles, so it’s not necessarily something that will be finished overnight. However, the pattern is fun and also easy to follow. If you’re looking for a relaxing knitting project for chilly days, this is the right one.

Tyrol is only about 17 km from Bernau am Chiemsee—and we’re having typical April weather. Today we had about 16 °C with sun, clouds, and rain; tomorrow it’s supposed to snow—perfect weather for crafting ;-)

So we’ve been spared the snow for now, but it’s freezing cold!
