I have a beautiful stole to offer. A champagne reception and a knitted stole go hand in hand :-)
It’s knitted lengthwise and features an enchanting lace pattern, which is written out and illustrated in a knitting chart. Once the lace pattern is finished, you continue with simple ribbing. The advantage of this is that you can simply stop as soon as you’ve reached the desired width.
You’ll need 4-ply sock yarn (approx. 600m—yarn usage depends on the width) and a 4mm circular needle.

Josefa, look! I have something else for you! A knitted scarf with hearts! All you need to know for this are knit and purl stitches and counting. I'm sure you can do that :-)
You can then give the scarf as a gift for birthdays of people you especially like, or use it as a Christmas gift (it doesn't hurt to start in good time), and if you don't want to give it away, then you can simply wear it yourself.
It's knitted with relatively thick yarn (110 m per 50 g), so you'll see progress quickly too.

This scarf, knitted from a ball of sock yarn, makes for a lovely and relaxing weekend project. What makes it special is its diagonal look, which comes from the fact that it’s actually knitted on the diagonal. It tapers to a point at the ends, and a lace edge keeps the knitting from getting boring. Gradient yarns work very well and really bring out the pattern.

Also great for the garden, because you’ll quickly get the hang of the pattern and then won’t have to keep checking it constantly, is this summer scarf, which, once it’s finished, is also very useful for cool evenings outdoors.
For it, you’ll need approx. 350 m of bulky cotton yarn (yardage 84 m per 50 g) and 6 mm knitting needles. With the bulky yarn, you’ll get that sense of achievement quickly.

Today the sun is finally shining again. The flowers are happy about that, too—they’re lifting their little heads back up after being quite wilted these past few days.
Let’s go for a walk in the woods. It’s not quite warm yet, so you could still use something cozy around your shoulders. A woolly shawl is just the thing—knitted in a beautiful lace pattern so even the squirrels will admire you :-)

Enough yarn to last a lifetime!

And once you've managed a square in knit and purl stitches, we could also practice knitting these stitches in the round. It gets a bit trickier then, because you'll have to join your knitting into a round and mustn't twist anything. Once you've cleared that hurdle, you simply continue with the knit/purl pattern. You can already do that by now :-) And when you're done, you'll have a stylish infinity scarf. By the way, it's knitted with very thick yarn, so you'll finish more quickly.

It's a rectangular stole. It can be knitted with any yarn you like; you can make a scarf out of it, you can make an even wider stole, or you can also use the pattern to make a potholder (that goes faster!) - you need knitting needles and yarn, that's all. For a potholder, I recommend cotton :-)

Well, edging is simply a border—it doesn’t necessarily have to go all the way around. For example, it could also be a finishing edge for a triangular shawl, where you simply edge the long straight side in some way. Or, for a scarf, you could edge the long sides. It doesn’t have to be a complete round.

In principle, yes. This can be a very simple border that simply makes the finished edges look neater, but it can also be embellished with creative patterns. A crocheted neckline, for example, would also be considered an edging.

I just got caught in a snow flurry, the wind is howling, and everyone is bundled up like it’s the middle of winter.
To go with that, I have an infinity scarf here that’s just right for this weather. It is knitted from sock yarn in two colors; it is a long tube that is then sewn together at the ends. This makes it double-layered and look just as good on the inside as on the outside.
It is knitted on a 4 mm circular knitting needle; yarn usage is three 50 g skeins of color A for the mesh pattern and one 50 g skein of color B for the rest.

I have fond memories of “The Basic Book of Crochet” by Jan Eaton. It’s not brand-new anymore, but it’s still available.

When the weather’s bad, it’s nice to read a book. Snuggled up under a warm blanket, it’s very relaxing. All you need now is a bookmark.
This one is knitted in a lace pattern, ideally using slightly thinner cotton yarn, but you can also just use any leftover yarn you have on hand. You’ll need about 20 meters for a bookmark.

I think you shouldn’t let your anticipation of summer be spoiled; here you can see my summer scarf. What’s special about it is that it is both knitted and crocheted. The scarf itself is knitted in a drop-stitch pattern, and the ends with the fringes are crocheted.
The scarf is made from cotton with a yardage of 69 m per 50 g — of course, you can use other yarns too. You’ll also need a 5 mm circular knitting needle (because of the length) and a 6 mm crochet hook.

For those who really feel the cold, here’s an infinity scarf that’s finished in a flash using thick yarn
(100m per 100g) and 8mm needles. It’s knitted in the round and is completely straightforward. You can find the pattern here .

When temperatures start to drop toward freezing, a scarf really comes in handy.
This scarf made from sock yarn is simple yet fun to knit. What makes it special are the little holes that resemble Swiss cheese. A photo tutorial shows you how to do it.
You’ll need about 400 meters of 4-ply sock yarn and 3.5mm knitting needles.

As you can see, the fish have already set off toward the sunshine.
For the bag, you’ll need 2 skeins of cotton yarn (preferably in blue and yellow, with a yardage of 125m per 50g), a 3mm circular needle, a crochet hook of the same size for the handles, and three stitch markers. The bag fastens with a snap button.

What do you think of a yellow-orange shopping bag? It’s knitted in cotton (69 meters per 50 grams)—you’ll need 2 skeins of it and 1 skein in a contrasting color to make the colors pop a little more.

Of course, you can use other colors too, but I think it simply looks great in purple. This knitted lace stole is a very elegant accessory, a shoulder wrap for festive occasions.

A delicate lace-patterned scarf with cables that looks more difficult than it is. You’ll need sock yarn, at least one skein, 3.5mm knitting needles, and a cable needle.

"Poesia" practically knits itself. It’s a scarf that is knitted diagonally, mostly in stockinette stitch, except for a small lace-pattern border that doesn’t require any advanced skill and is really easy.
For one scarf, you need one ball of sock yarn (preferably a gradient yarn so the diagonal patterning really stands out) and 3.5 mm knitting needles. Possibly also a stitch marker, so you don’t have to pay attention anymore.
The width can be varied as you like; you can also make it into a wider shoulder shawl, though in that case you should plan for more yarn.

It’s tricky if you don’t want cotton. Something I used recently and was really thrilled with was “Java” by ONLine. It does contain some cotton, but it’s blended with viscose—a thin, lightweight yarn with a long yardage that feels very soft.

This beautiful lace shawl uses two different lace patterns. It looks great in two contrasting colors, but can just as easily be knitted in a single color.
