This poncho is a great companion for colder days. The pattern includes explanations for all sizes. When it comes to design,
there are no limits to your imagination. Whether decorated with pompoms or fringe, with
flowers or tassels, it looks great in every color.

Required materials:

For children ages 4-8 - 320g yarn for recommended hook size 5-6 (here Baby Fun Colors by Ice Yarns with a yardage of 160m/100g

approx. 60g yarn for recommended hook size 3-4 and a yardage of 133m / 50g

for the pompoms or fringe, another approx. 65 g yarn

This beautiful, thick loop scarf in the trendy cable-pattern look can easily be made individually for any size. If you

Required materials for a loop scarf with approx. 60 cm circumference:

• 75 g yarn for needle size 4–4.5 (yarn for needle size 4–4.5 was used here (e.g., Magic Light byIce Yarns, 360 m yardage/100 g)
• Crochet hook size 4

The leaves and flowers are already sprouting, but the cold hasn’t quite been banished yet.
Even in May and June, there can be chilly days. So now is the perfect time to knit yourself a swoncho.
A swoncho? What is that?

A swoncho is the perfect combination of a sweater and a poncho. With knitted-on cuffs, it keeps you reliably warm and nothing can slip out of place. A collar also provides extra protection from the cold.



Materials needed:

• approx. 400 grams of “Lippenbekenntnis” Best of by Schoppel (yardage 420 m / 100 g) or similar yarn with the same yardage
  
• Circular knitting needle 3.5–4.5 mm (I recommend an interchangeable cable system, e.g. by KnitPro, as there will be a lot of stitches on the needle toward the end and you will need a very long cable)
  
• 9 stitch markers (8 for the raglan slopes and one for the end of the round)
  
• Sewing needle for weaving in the ends
  
• Tape measure
  
• A piece of scrap yarn for the provisional cast-on
  
• Crochet hook for the provisional cast-on
  
• if needed, a set of double-pointed needles in 3.5–4.5 mm

Skills needed:

• knit stitches
• purl stitches
• yarn overs
• knitting stitches together
• left-leaning increases
• right-leaning increases
• provisional cast-on

I designed the swoncho for sizes 40–44, but it can be customized to any size. You only need to measure the neck circumference, sleeve length, and wrist width.
The pattern is 7 pages long and includes written instructions as well as charts (knitting charts) and a schematic drawing.

To turn cold into warmth, this scarf or loop in a

Scarf or Loop

When temperatures start to drop toward freezing, a scarf really comes in handy.
This scarf made from sock yarn is simple yet fun to knit. What makes it special are the little holes that resemble Swiss cheese. A photo tutorial shows you how to do it.
You’ll need about 400 meters of 4-ply sock yarn and 3.5mm knitting needles.

(100m per 100g) and 8mm needles. It’s knitted in the round and is completely straightforward. You can find the pattern here .

Whether crocheted or knitted: a cozy piece like this is in demand all year round, whether on cool summer days, as an outdoor jacket in the transitional season, or on the couch in winter.

And yes, the crochet pattern looks knitted and is just as cuddly soft. But knitters will also get their money's worth. The stitch pattern is very similar.

The PDF pattern is thoroughly illustrated across 23 pages and contains both the crochet pattern and the knitting pattern for the soul warmer and the arm/leg warmers.

The stitches used are explained with pictures.
So general crochet or knitting skills are sufficient.

Basically, any yarn you like can be used. However, the amount of yarn can vary greatly depending on your choice of yarn and needle/hook size. Details are provided in the pattern. My yarn usage when using an alpaca yarn, 50 g – 100 m, according to the label for needle size 3 – 4, but used here: crochet hook size 8.0

• for the soul warmer, approx. 500 g in the crochet version (approx. 800 g in the knitted version with needles size 6.0),
  
• for the cuffs/warmers, approx. 100 g in both versions

My recipe for cold snaps: arm warmers and wrist warmers! They warm your hands, heart, and soul, dress up any outfit, and when your hands are warm, you feel much less cold right away! Try it, it works! And when the temperatures climb back up, they come off in no time!
