All that and much more is summer, and on Crazypatterns you’ll find matching patterns, from women’s tops to airy lace shawls, and of course we also have summer bags.
Stock up now on new summer patterns so there’s still plenty of time to make them.

Crochet a wonderfully light summer shawl with the “Fuego” crochet pattern.

This lace shawl, whose name is Spanish and means “fire,” is crocheted from top to bottom. Since the pattern consists only of single crochet, chain stitches, and double crochet, it’s perfect for beginners.

Materials needed:
  • ca. 200 grams or ca. 750 – 800 meters of yarn (e.g. lace yarn, sock yarn, or a “Bobbel” yarn cake made from folded yarn)
  • Crochet hook size 3 – 3.5
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle
Dimensions of the shawl when finished: approx. 180 x 80 cm.
The pattern is 10 pages long and includes written instructions, charts, and a schematic drawing.

Knitting delicate lace is a joy in summer.
Like with this wonderful shawl, which is a perfect "vacation project".

Anyone who loves knitting and crocheting will know this:

You see a few beautiful skeins of yarn, have to have them right away, and would love to start knitting immediately without having to do any major calculations about yarn usage. Just sit down on the beach or on the balcony of your hotel/vacation apartment and start knitting. Because: on vacation, you rarely have a calculator or even a kitchen scale with you.

Nimrodel is a simply constructed shawl that is knitted from the bottom up. It gets its shape from regular increases at the sides.

The lovely thing about this shawl is: It can be made with any yarn; you don't need to weigh anything or note a specific yarn usage. So you can simply focus on the pattern repeats, which require no further prerequisites apart from a little experience with yarn overs and knitting stitches together. After a few rows, you’ll have the pattern structure in your head and can knit away “mindlessly” until the yarn is used up.
Only the provisional cast-on requires a little more knowledge, but it is explained in detail in this pattern.
Finishing the lower point also requires no calculations at all. That is also explained later in the pattern.

Required materials:
  • 2 circular knitting needles suitable for the chosen yarn (one with a longer cable, one with a shorter cable, or a cable system such as KnitPro or Knitpicks)
  • Crochet hook
  • Stitch markers
  • Sewing needle.
Since the points may curl slightly after blocking (especially in damp weather), I recommend treating them with a little spray starch while blocking. This will make them more stable.

The pattern comprises 9 pages and includes detailed knitting charts (charts), images, and a schematic drawing.
Difficulty level: intermediate.

A chic accessory for cool summer nights is this cotton scarf, which is knitted lengthwise but, with its crocheted ends and fringes, is sure to be an eye-catcher at any party.
You’ll need 3 balls of cotton yarn for it (LL 69m/50g), a 5mm circular knitting needle, and a matching crochet hook. The length of the scarf can be adjusted easily, though this will change the amount of yarn required.

You can find the pattern here.

This trapezoid shawl named "Sweet Dreams" stands out with its unusual shape. It offers many different ways to wear it and has a beautiful pattern. Using the specified yarn and hook size, the shawl has
a length of approx. 1.85 m x 0.60 m. It is relatively easy to crochet, so even ambitious beginners should have no problems. You should only have knowledge of chain stitches,
single crochet, double crochet, and front post double crochet
stitches.

Perfect for warm days—whether over a bikini at the beach or over a tank top in the city—always an eye-catcher!
The mesh pattern is stable and does not stretch out, because the slipped-over stitches alternate.

The pattern includes an exact cut for size 38/40.
However, the gauge in combination with the cut makes it possible to make any size!

And this way to the pattern and more details...

A soft cotton shawl is just the thing when you want to sit outside on cool summer evenings. This one is very relaxing to knit—once you get started, it practically knits itself. The brioche pattern is easy to memorize and gives it its soft texture.
It’s knitted with cotton yarn (329m per 50g) using 3.5mm needles; you’ll need 2–3 skeins, depending on the desired length.

You can find the pattern here.

Summer is just around the corner, vacation can begin.

Off to the beach, taking only the essentials—this little bag is perfect for that. Even if sandy shells or other
souvenirs from the beach find their place in it, that’s no problem
because it’s fully washable. A zipper ensures that the contents are
safely stowed away, and the shoulder strap can be easily
shortened with a knot. Plus, it takes up hardly any space in your vacation luggage. So uncomplicated, simple, practical, good—just like my favorite vacation country, Denmark. With the maritime anchor motif, I was
already getting into a vacation mood while crocheting.

The bag measures 18 cm x 22 cm. You will need
  • cotton yarn 50g/125m, 2 each in white and blue
  • crochet hook size 2.5
  • zipper
  • decorative anchor or other charm
It is crocheted using knit stitch in tapestry technique. The knit stitch is explained in the pattern.

Here you can find the pattern.

This crocheted summer dress—made in cool cotton—is perfect for summery days at the beach, at the pool or simply for strolling around town and stopping by a café!
The skirt length reaches just above the knee, so the dress is also suitable for evening outings :-)

The pattern is simple yet sophisticated—so it’s absolutely recommended for beginners, too!

A detailed description guides you through the crochet process.
For clarification, a chart in crochet chart format can also be found in the pattern.

This pattern is designed for sizes S-M and M-L.
However, the included template and the gauge make it possible to make any size!

And this way to the pattern...
