Mod Josefa—that’s me—knows little to nothing about crafts in any category. But I’m hanging out here until your expertise rubs off on me.
If I actually did do crafts—I don’t have the time for it right now, but if I did—what patterns would you recommend?

I would warmly recommend my Summer Loop to you :)

1. It is very well suited for beginners
2. You can wear the loop on cool summer days, but also in colder weather if you crochet the loop with thicker yarn.
3. You only need to know how a chain stitch and a double crochet work.

Materials you will need:

• 250 g Bella by Alize with a yardage of 180 m/50g in mint
• Crochet hook No. 3
• Embroidery needle for weaving in the ends.

Alternatively, you can also use the following yarn: Baby Smiles Cotton, Catania Fine (though the material consumption is slightly higher) or LINIE 345 COTTON BABY.

You can determine the length and width of the loop yourself using the gauge (in the pattern).

Maybe you’ll have the time sometime and would like to crochet my loop. I would be really delighted :)

Here is the pattern

So if you can work knit and purl stitches, you're in. I have a pattern for you :-)
It's a rectangular stole. It can be knitted with any yarn you like; you can make a scarf out of it, you can make an even wider stole, or you can also use the pattern to make a potholder (that goes faster!) - you need knitting needles and yarn, that's all. For a potholder, I recommend cotton :-)

Here is the pattern.

And once you've managed a square in knit and purl stitches, we could also practice knitting these stitches in the round. It gets a bit trickier then, because you'll have to join your knitting into a round and mustn't twist anything. Once you've cleared that hurdle, you simply continue with the knit/purl pattern. You can already do that by now :-) And when you're done, you'll have a stylish infinity scarf. By the way, it's knitted with very thick yarn, so you'll finish more quickly.

well, if you’d like quick success and if you might want to crochet or even knit something for new little ones among your friends and relatives, something like this would be ideal:

Easy Baby Crochet Shoes

This is an illustrated crochet pattern (incl. brief instructions for the knitted version) for easy-to-crochet baby shoes.

Basic crochet (knitting) skills are sufficient.

We need: approx. 50 g cotton (blend) yarn with a yardage of approx. 90 m per 50 g, for size 4.0–5.0 (knitting/crochet) needles; used here: 4.5 crochet hook.

However, another yarn with a suitable needle/hook size can also be used—the specified measurements are what matters (pay attention to the gauge—for this I recommend the very easy-to-use  PDF table “READ instead of Calculate” (click me)). 
We also need a bit of leftover yarn for the bows or 2 pretty buttons, a yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors.


By the way: cash gifts can also be “wrapped” like this..

I can recommend my clownfish Charly to you, Josefa.

It’s crocheted entirely in rounds with even increases and decreases, and the colors are always changed at the start of a new round.

My patterns include several detailed photos to make it easier to follow along.

Besides the crochet hook, you’ll only need cotton yarn in three colors—white, orange, and black—as well as stuffing and eyes. If you don’t have safety eyes on hand, you can of course use buttons instead.

I have a great knitted loop for you that you can easily make with just a few basic knitting skills.
All you need to know are knit and purl stitches, as well as increases and decreases.
What do you need? Sock yarn, lace yarn, or leftover yarn. With the Sador loop, you can let your creativity run wild and create a truly one-of-a-kind piece every time!



Materials needed:

• approx. 100–200 g of yarn (up to DK weight)
• 2 circular needles, 80 or 100 cm long, with at least half a needle size difference (for lace yarn, I recommend sizes 3 and 3.5)
• Measuring tape
• Digital kitchen scale or other precision scale
• Stitch markers

There is no fixed number of stitches for the loop. You need a gauge swatch to calculate the required number of stitches.
The pattern is 5 pages long and includes many examples of how to use different yarns.

An absolute beginner knitting project is this poncho:

This is a brief PDF pattern for a featherlight and very easy-to-knit poncho in one size, made from only 100 g KidSilk (Austermann), 75% kid mohair, 25% silk, 25 g - 225 m for needle size 3 - 4. The pattern includes the preview image.

These knitting skills are enough:
casting on stitches, edge stitch (your favorite edge stitch), knit and purl stitches, bind off.

By the way: The poncho can also be knitted nicely as a warm outdoor poncho with thick wool, 100 g - 100 m, using needle size 8.0. Required yarn amount approx. 700 g. The number of stitches always depends on the individual gauge. Recommendation for converting your personal gauge: PDF table "READ OFF instead of Calculating" (click me).
For beginners, I recommend using a "normal" yarn that can also be unraveled instead of KidSilk or mohair yarns, if necessary.

if you like small, sweet little flowers and are a crochet beginner, then the pattern for the beautiful crochet shawl Tausendschön is just right for you.
But of course it’s also for all other beginners. ☺



Tausendschön is a wonderfully large, beautiful wrap. Thanks to its slightly asymmetrical shape, it can be worn in many different ways. The little flowers, which also gave the scarf its name, are crocheted on as you go and are the highlight!

The shawl can be crocheted in many yarn weights. The size is also freely adjustable.

Materials needed:

here I have the pattern for the loop scarf, which is perfectly suited for you:

if you can knit knit and purl stitches, nothing can go wrong at all,
since it is knitted with circular needle no. 6, you also don't need to sew anything together,

just keep working in the round, alternating 1 round of knit stitches and 1 round of
purl stitches,
by the time you have reached the desired height, you'll have found so much joy in knitting
that the last round will be the highlight, because then you get to do something
that is usually a mistake in knitting: dropping stitches!

The elegant loop has a timeless pattern and is reversible. It’s quick to crochet, is rated as easy, and shouldn’t be a problem for a beginner. You should have the following basic crochet skills: slip stitch, chain stitch, yarn over.For a loop with a diameter of approx. 80 cm and a height of approx. 20 cm, you’ll need : • Yarn in one or more colors (3 x 50 g, approx. 140 m, 75% virgin wool, 25% polyamide) • Crochet hook size 1.75–2.0

there's no such thing as "I can't"! So let's start veeeery simply: The first thing you learn when knitting is casting on stitches, edge stitches, knit and purl stitches, and binding off stitches. This is the foundation, and with that you can already knit lots of projects!
I can warmly recommend, for example, my Loop ANOUK! It is originally knitted with the alpaca-silk yarn "Sulka Legato" by Mirasol, but it can just as well be knitted with summery cotton-blend yarns suitable for needle size 3.5-4. I just wouldn't really recommend pure cotton; personally, it would be too stiff and too hard for me. I prefer it cozy.
The pattern includes a knitting chart, but if you don't like working from charts: the pattern is also described in writing row by row, so everyone can work according to their own needs!

From now on you have a lot to do, so get started right away—and above all, have lots of fun with it!

Josefa, look! I have something else for you! A knitted scarf with hearts! All you need to know for this are knit and purl stitches and counting. I'm sure you can do that :-)
You can then give the scarf as a gift for birthdays of people you especially like, or use it as a Christmas gift (it doesn't hurt to start in good time), and if you don't want to give it away, then you can simply wear it yourself.
It's knitted with relatively thick yarn (110 m per 50 g), so you'll see progress quickly too.

The pattern is free.
Making it is easy, quick, and inexpensive. You can surely
scrounge up a few bits of leftover yarn, and you can take a clothespin from the
line :)
The result is useful and also cute for decorating.
If, contrary to expectations, your project goes wrong, you’ll only have a “little thing” that the world doesn’t need.
Walter can also be camouflaged well.

My recommendation:

Seamless crochet sweater, crocheted in rounds with double crochet.
The sweater’s look comes from gradient yarn in favorite colors.

Material:  4-ply Bobbel yarn – here "Feuervogel" – 50/50 cotton / polyacrylic
Hook size: 3.5
Size:  custom

The sleeves can be lengthened as desired.
