Dear users, dear authors,
the weather is somehow only so-so. At the moment, you probably still can’t pack away your winter things for the summer just yet. Anyone who, in protest against the often gray weather, wants to have or make a new scarf, a new loop scarf, a collar scarf, scarf collar, or a scoodie will surely find suitable patterns here in this thread.

A light and wonderful summer loop scarf! 

Perfect for Bobbels/ gradient yarns

I especially like cowls because you can quickly wrap them around your neck, use them to pep up your outfit, and, depending on the yarn used, they also keep you nice and warm or simply make a good draft stopper.

Here I’d like to introduce you to three of my cowls.

The "Sandra" cowl is crocheted from warm winter yarn or cooling summer yarn. You can use as many colors as you like and crochet either a simple solid-colored cowl or a colorful, vibrant one. The pattern explains how to recalculate the required stitches accordingly.

The "Margery" cowl is crocheted from gradient yarn. A 3-ply yarn with 750 m of yardage was used. The gradient yarn has especially beautiful color transitions. The pattern is kept simple and can be crocheted by beginners without any problems.

For this cowl, different yarns were combined: one novelty yarn (here Lana Grossa Olympia) and a thinner yarn in a matching color (here Lana Grossa McWool 80).

A lightweight infinity scarf made from sock yarn is ideal for the in-between season. This one is knitted in the round; the pattern is easy to follow and relaxing. You’ll need 4-ply sock yarn (210m per 50g), 3 skeins, and 3mm needles.

This scarf with a lace and cable pattern is also knitted from sock yarn. The amount needed depends on the length you want to achieve. It is knitted on 3.5 mm needles.
The pattern is catchy and easy to work once you get into it; it almost knits itself. However, you should know how to knit cables.

Loop 'Violetta' - quick to knit

This reversible loop scarf can be knitted quickly in a weekend.

Finished measurements: approx. 156 cm circumference x 32 cm (it rolls up). But you can also pull it open and wear it as a shoulder warmer.

Wearable in all seasons, it can be worn 1 x / 2 x or 3 x around the neck and matches the "Violetta" hat and "Violetta" bag.

Required

knitting skills:
cast-on, knit stitches, knitting in the round with circular needles

crochet skills:
chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches (needed for the final but crucial round).

The PDF pattern includes pictures.

Difficulty level: fairly easy.

Material:
100 g Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Austermann), 100% cotton, 50 g – 125 m for needle size 2.5 – 3.5, circular needle size 8.0 used here (because of the doubled strand) with 80 cm cable length; gauge according to the ball band: 26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
[Note: Yarn that catches, such as mohair, is not suitable for this];
stitch marker, yarn needle for weaving in ends, measuring tape, scissors, crochet hook 6.0

Crochet Scarf/Cowl & Headband 'Playful' in a simple shell pattern

The scarf can also be sewn together and worn as a cowl (wrapped twice around the neck), basically in any season.

Add the matching headband - and you have a pretty (gift) set.

Experienced crocheters can crochet both quickly in one weekend.

I made the set with summery cotton yarn, here with Schachenmayr Cotton Bamboo, 50% cotton / 50% viscose,50 g – 120 m, needle size according to the label 3 - 4, crochet hook size 4.0 used here;gauge according to the label 22 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Please choose alternative yarns (e.g., Merino Extrafine 120 by Schachenmayr) according to the details listed above.

Yarn required / finished measurements:

• 150 g for the scarf/cowl: approx. 14 cm x 140 cm – length variable
• 50 g for the headband - size variable

The 8-page PDF pattern includes pictures, but requires the following basic crochet skills:
chain stitches, double crochet, single crochet, crocheting in rows. A link with explanations of the basic skills is included in the PDF.

Difficulty level: easy – also suitable for advanced beginners.

These basic knitting skills are used:
casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knit 2 stitches together, increase 1 stitch, knitting in the round, binding off.

We need:
just under 50 g Austermann Kid Silk (75% kid mohair, 25% silk, 25 g/225 m yardage (hand wash) needle size 3–4; used here: 3.5 circular knitting needle, stitch marker, yarn needle for weaving in ends, measuring tape, scissors


For beginning knitters, I recommend appropriately thin (lace) yarns without mohair.

I haven’t shown you my double-knit infinity scarf yet. It was inspired by works of art that I saw a long time ago on a trip to France.
It is knitted with sock yarn; the amount needed depends on the length. I would estimate about 260 m of each color for an infinity scarf, but you can also use the pattern in the same way to knit a scarf. Basic knowledge of double knitting is required.

Summer Loop

With this pattern, you can crochet a beautiful loop in pastel colors made of pure silk for summer. The lovely color sequences are created by the color gradient of the yarn used. Of course, you can also crochet this loop with solid-colored yarn or use any other type of yarn.

Yarn requirements: 250g total, with a yardage of 100m per 50g. Crochet hook size 4

the sample-stitch loop scarf is just the right thing for this time of year,

it is knitted in the round from cotton ribbon yarn, so there is no need to sew it together,
with needle size 6 it works up very quickly too!

at the end you get to drop stitches, which is usually a mistake,

Simply Loop is a simple and quick-to-knit summer loop!!
It’s worked using knit and purl stitches, yarn overs, and knitting two stitches together, so it’s absolutely beginner-friendly.
It uses 2 50 g balls of Noblesse by lanartus, with a yardage of 160 m per 50 g. Of course, it can be knitted with any other yarn of your choice.

Little Snake is a simple, decorative summer cowl.
Even if the pattern doesn’t look like it, it’s really easy and is also charted.
The cowl is knitted in the round. It starts with garter stitch, followed by rows of slip stitches and a simple snake pattern. It’s finished off with a picot edge.
