We also need: measuring tape, yarn needle for weaving in ends, sewing needle for sewing on the decorative buttons, 2 decorative buttons, scissors, safety pin or straight pin for securing the straps, stitch markers if desired.

Crochet Möbius Collar 1-2-3-4

This collar wonderfully jazzes up sweaters and shirts.

It is crocheted from approx. 60 g of a merino yarn with 50 g – 160 m yardage and hook size 3 – 4 (here with a 3.5 mm crochet hook) and is quickly finished in one afternoon. Beginners should allow themselves a little more crochet time. Other yarns with a suitable hook size can also be used. In my opinion, however, the pattern shows up better in finer yarns.

The Möbius technique in crochet is considerably easier than in knitting.

For the illustrated PDF pattern basic crochet skills are sufficient (chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, slip stitch). Link tips for learning to crochet are included.

Difficulty level: Easy — you should be familiar with the basic crochet techniques (making a magic ring, crocheting in spiral rounds, single crochet, sewing on the individual pieces...). The pattern is worked entirely in single crochet, so it’s also suitable for beginners.

There’s lots of knitting time this weekend, either during a relaxed evening in front of the TV or, for those blessed with good weather, outside in the garden or on the balcony. How about a shoulder wrap?
This stole is knitted in brioche stitch—if you’ve never done that before, there’s a photo tutorial—and uses a rather thin cotton yarn (329 m per 100 g) and 3.5 mm knitting needles. You’ll get the hang of the pattern quickly, and then it’s a very relaxing knit that’s especially fun to make with gradient yarn.

How about crocheting practical baskets and cases this weekend that you can also use to store yarn, crochet hooks, and other materials you need for crocheting?

These baskets made from textile yarn, for example, are practical. Textile yarn is a byproduct of fabric production. It is crocheted with large hook sizes (10 - 12), which means the projects are finished very quickly.
They are wonderful for storing yarn. For example, I always use them to store the yarn I need for a pattern in these baskets, so I always have it all within reach at once.
