You’ve all been very hard at work and have finished some really beautiful pieces.👍👍

My scarf has already come in handy. At 190 x 40 cm, it keeps my head, neck, and chest/back warm.


My colorful curtains are finished, but unfortunately the hooks don’t stay on the window frame. I’ll have to get some others when I go to Stade in early March. I hung one on the kitchen window (which is wider).






I haven’t gotten around to the hat yet—I stumbled upon instructions for a door wreath...

I’m finishing the scarf I started last winter and trying my hand at a colorful curtain that’s supposed to keep out some of the cold. I’m not really happy with it yet, though.
I also bought some yarn for a hat.

Christmas decorations will stay up until the 6th, and then the winter decorations will go up. As the season changes, the first signs of spring will start to mix in and gradually take over. For Valentine’s Day, I have a few little things to hang up. I’m still working on the new Easter decorations.

Dear friends,
I want to thank you all so much for the many birthday wishes and kind words. They really made my day.😊

It was a quiet day, and—in between shoveling the sidewalk three times—I took it easy, read my new book, and, of course, did some crocheting.
I had actually planned to drive down to the waterfront in Cuxhaven, but with all the snowfall, I decided to postpone it.

At the Christmas Market 

A marzipan potato
wanted to go to the Christmas market.
Outside its crinkly bag,
to see all the colorful hustle and bustle there.
 
It had heard so much about it,
but could hardly believe it.
Music and lights everywhere
and children’s bright, shining eyes.
 
The carousel spins round and round
with cars, planes, and horses.
Next to it there are sweet treats,
heaven on earth for children.
 
Bratwurst, punch, and egg grog,
parents enjoy those.
And our marzipan potato
looks out at the wide world.
 
Off to the side stands a little girl.
She cries very quietly to herself,
because in her crinkly bag,
there is sadly nothing left inside.
 
Santa Claus saw this,
reaches into the sack with the presents.
And what he gave her,
you can probably guess…

Sheer tights or stockings also make great stuffing. I’ve used them in washable children’s toys.

I bought this little lavender elf to enter the “Use Up Your Leftovers” challenge.
But when I tried to upload it, it didn’t work. The designer had since moved it to the blog.

I don’t think that’s great.

It’s nice that the pattern is now available for free, but why during an ongoing challenge?

Unfortunately, the designer wouldn’t tell me why. The only response I got was that the pattern was available on the blog. When I asked again, “Why during an ongoing challenge?” I didn’t get a reply.

That’s not how you earn brownie points as a seller—at least not with me.

One more vote for knitted socks.

I never liked the crocheted ones for babies and toddlers anyway.

Planning a festive meal

I’m working on a collection like that too, Christina. There are ghosts, pumpkins, gnomes, a seagull—one curtain is almost finished, and the nautical dish soap curtain still needs that last row of holes.
And today I bought a pattern for a Lucifer gnome...

Once you’ve learned something, it stays with you—even after a long time, it’s tucked away in some corner of your mind.

When I was in school, I knitted a lot for my little sisters. Then I switched to crocheting and didn’t knit for a long time.

Eventually, I started making socks, sweaters, and ponchos, and since I’ve been with CP, I’ve made lots of dishcloths (including for curtains, etc.) and blankets.
The cable patterns from back then probably don’t come as easily anymore, but I could still manage them if I tried.

I have a few projects planned, and I already have a box full of yarn, but as always, I’m missing one color or another, or a new project keeps popping up...

I really like your sweater, Inge. You can definitely pair a timeless piece like this with lots of different outfits.
I’m always amazed by how quickly you work.

Today I had some leftover fresh soup.

When I cook, I usually make two or three servings, and sometimes I freeze one of them.

I’ve only seen him once so far, Petra. I hope my landlord doesn’t cut down the rest of the patio this year. Then maybe I can keep the woodpecker and friends in the garden with some bird feeders.

Unfortunately, I could only take photos of today’s garden visitor through the kitchen window. So the photo quality isn’t great, but I’d like to show them to you anyway.

Unfortunately, I’ve never had a dirndl, and it wouldn’t suit me at all anyway. My daughter once had a knitted dirndl. Her grandma had brought it back from Brazil.

I think your idea with the bonnet is great, and I really like the finished product. 👍
I could imagine that it might get a little lighter when washed.
