Wishing everyone a wonderful St. Nicholas Day, and I have a little poem for you:
Christmas Kitchen
Through the Christmas kitchen
all kinds of aromas drift.
Almonds, nuts, and currants
we then find in the cookies.
Vanilla, apples, marzipan,
chocolate joins in too.
Tasty cookies, colorful sprinkles,
gingerbread, brown and white.
But with all these tasty treats
the stomach has nothing to laugh about.
From all the tasting,
nibbling a bit here and there,
our stomach then turns sour,
and then we have to suffer.
Will we learn from our mistakes?
There are never enough cookies.
Next year, at the same time,
it will be time once again:
Through the Christmas kitchen
all kinds of aromas drift…
