Pattern for the Lenor Ad Cardigan

Hi everyone
I love knitting, but I’m not particularly good at it.

I just saw this royal blue cardigan in the Lenor ad—a dream!!!! You can’t buy it. I’m sure there’s a knitting genius here who can help me figure out how to knit this cardigan. I’m especially interested in the “wavy” front band

Warm regards and many thanks
Susanne from Switzerland

Oh, I’ve admired this beautiful cardigan many times too. I don’t have the edging in mind right now. But I’ll watch for it the next time I see the ad.

Best regards
Michaela

Hi Susanne,
Have you knitted this cardigan yet? I’m working on the trim right now, and it’s looking pretty good. It’s actually quite simple once you get the hang of it.

Warm regards from Leonberg

Hello Wolleundkaffee

Could you show us a picture of your project sometime?  I’m curious.
The cardigan looks good; doesn’t it get heavy with this pintuck technique?

Best wishes - Marion

Hello, you two, no, I didn’t knit that cardigan. To this day, I still don’t know how to knit the front band.
I’m looking forward to seeing your cardigan!!! And maybe you’d like to tell me how you knit the front band?

Best regards, Susanne

@Wolleundkaffee

Oh yes, please take a picture of the cardigan. I’d be really interested in that too. ☺

What do you mean? If you were trying to post a picture, it didn’t seem to work.
Pictures shouldn’t be larger than 2 MB. Just try again. :-)

Not quite yet... So, once again

I’m still far from finished with the cardigan. The upper part with the sleeves is done. It’s worked almost in one piece. Except for the sleeves; they’re knitted separately.  I’m working on the tuck right now. And yes... it uses up quite a lot of yarn.
The tuck has to be knitted double-sided.

Then the apron still comes next.  Two different materials are used here.

As soon as I’ve finished the jacket, I’ll write up the pattern neatly so others can knit it.

I know the commercial by heart now. All the trial and error really cost me a lot of time and nerves. Quite tricky in parts.

I still have to figure out how the pictures work here.

Hi everyone,

I can knit, but uploading a picture here is too much for me :-)
Somehow it just isn’t working.
I’m almost done with the trim on one front panel. I’ll need about 250 g of yarn for it.

Best wishes

Hi Wollundkaffee,

if you want to upload a picture here, first click on the image icon above the text field. Then a window will open and you can upload a picture from your computer. Please make sure the image file isn’t larger than 2MB. The server doesn’t like that. ;-)
Ggf. you may need to resize your image. You can do this with software like Photoscape, but also online, for example here.

I’m really looking forward to seeing a picture of the band.

Best regards
Michaela

I’m nowhere near finished yet.
This is just the top part.
The skirt part of the coat is also quite a challenge.
I estimate that once it’s finished, the coat will have used up about 2.2 kg of wool.
But......the coat is turning out amazing.
Maybe I’ll add a lining in the end

@wolleundkaffe

That looks suuuuuper.
Is the band in two pieces, sewn together at the top of the neckline?

No, the edging is in one piece. Double-sided tucks

Hi everyone,
I’d like to join the ranks of those who recently became grandmothers—in October with our Elsa.
And I’d like to express my utmost respect for the jacket—it’s wonderful that you’ve already done so much in advance. I know it’s unfair since you did all the work, but are you thinking of offering the pattern?
Warmest regards

Impressive! Great.
And now, of course, I’m even more curious whether there is a pattern.
Kind regards
Elisabeth

Hello Indien.
Then I’m sure you’re just as excited as I am about your grandchild.
Knitted little socks are the most sought-after :-)

Warm regards

Hi everyone
in case anyone’s still interested:
the Lenor cardigan was designed especially for Lenor by Monika Franz (graefe90/Berlin).
