I’m heading to Munich today to visit some dear friends.
On Saturday, there’s a big fan meetup for my favorite TV series, where I’ll be meeting my dear friend from Utah, who’s flying all the way across the pond just for this day.
I do have my crochet supplies with me, but they’re mostly for the train ride—I probably won’t have much time to crochet over the next few days. ;-)
I won’t have much time for crocheting this weekend. We have to work in the garden—trim the hedge, winterize the pool, and take care of everything else around it. Luckily, the weather is supposed to be nice again :)
and maybe I’ll still manage to pick up my hook in the evening...
On Sunday, I’m heading to the spa with my sister and my friend. A day without men and kids.
In the morning, we’ll enjoy a nice brunch, then head to the spa to relax. For me, that means I’ll definitely be bringing my crochet projects along. I’ve even got them all set up already.
Saturday is study time with my oldest son. He has his first test at high school next week. We don’t have to study that much; it’s more about making sure he structures his essays properly.
And to be honest, I’ll often be sitting there with a little crochet project (nothing fancy) just to calm my nerves.
And once that’s done, it’s off into nature. There’s plenty to do in the garden, or I’ll just enjoy the sunshine outside.
I’ll be spending the weekend with hospital visits and with my parents. My father was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago. It’s not life-threatening at this point, but it’s just another step downhill. He’s being discharged on Monday, and my mother just can’t figure out how she’s going to manage everything after that. We’re currently in the process of organizing home health care, though it’s not entirely clear yet how much of it will be needed. It’s a bit of a back-and-forth—on the one hand, she doesn’t want strangers in the apartment, but on the other hand, she’s glad to get help, and it’s different every day anyway.
I have the day off today, so my brother is taking care of things. Nature is calling—I want to enjoy the beautiful fall weather at least for one day.
We just got back today from our trip to Salzburg and Vienna (it was wonderful and we saw so much!), and I had plenty of time on the train to crochet my shopping net and knit on my “Dragon’s Ray” project. Tomorrow will probably be all about gardening, but the evening is reserved for crafts. On Sunday, my younger daughter is coming to visit before she sets off on her trip eastward—we’ll see how much knitting or crocheting I’ll get done then!
Tomorrow we’re moving into our new house—I’m soooo excited!! (Or rather, lugging stuff around and setting up—we won’t actually be sleeping there until next Thursday :))
@michaela: What’s your favorite series? :) I’ve finished watching Fuller House and am on the hunt for something new :)
(Speaking of Fuller House: Does anyone watch that? :) Ever since I saw Kimmy Gibbler’s funny crocheted scarves, I’ve been a huge fan of hers :D (a bacon-and-egg scarf, a pizza scarf, and a Christmas scarf—they’re hilarious :D))
I’m working the night shift through Sunday, and since my day job can get pretty lonely at night, I’m working on a new egg cozy pattern. It’s going to be something wintery! :)
@Tina: I just had to laugh out loud… Thank goodness I’m not the only yarn addict watching TV! I love watching “The Originals,” and in the last two episodes, one of the characters was wearing this absolutely gorgeous cardigan. Right in the middle of all the bloody carnage, I guess I actually said it out loud—and my husband promptly gave me a weird look. Today we watched “The Proposal” with our daughter, and the mother-in-law was wearing a cream-colored sweater. I wasn’t really paying attention, but then my husband asked, “So—do you like that sweater, too?” I said, “No, I don’t like the color, and that diamond-shaped cable pattern isn’t my thing either.” He just shook his head and said I was really “yarn-brained” xD
You could almost get jealous reading about your plans for outings and, above all, handicrafts. [Image removed]
I’ve been laid up for weeks, and for over a week now, I haven’t been able to do anything at all. Now we’re trying to figure out why the pain—instead of getting better with the cocktail of medications—is getting worse and worse. Handicrafts are out of the question, and even typing on the computer is difficult for me.

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday and the best of luck with your plans.
