I was on sick leave and felt like crocheting everything at once
*laugh*. So I ended up starting everything, but after a few rows
and rounds I didn’t feel like it anymore and started something new.
Now I'm curious to see how long it will take me to finish
these. Okay, some are for Christmas, so hopefully that will
go quickly.
To make 7 UFOs, you need a huge amount of yarn on hand—and since you were sick, you couldn’t just pop out to buy some.
I’m definitely glad you’re healthy again. And you’ll get them finished. UFOs like these are so forgiving—they don’t care at all if they sit around for a month or two, waiting to see the light of day again.....
I’m cracking up right now, haekeltrulla! I was/am sick too, but I only managed a measly three new UFOs :-))))
Wishing you a speedy recovery, your Steffi (who’s still barking like a big dog, sigh ...)
Wishing everyone who’s sick a speedy recovery!
Steffi—Inhaling over a pot of hot salt water helps quite a bit.
And rub some homemade thyme ointment on your chest.
Oh, I have those long-term UFOs, too… One of them has been waiting for over a year for me to pick it up again…
Get well soon to everyone who’s sick. It’s going around right now. Stay warm and drink plenty of tea.
I can only agree with InnasBastelein: Inhale and rub it on. If you’re not lucky enough to have homemade thyme ointment, Kinder Luuf works well too.
Speaking of which, how do you make thyme ointment yourself?
@Pe-Ka, super easy: bring 2 tsp thyme (from the spice rack) + 2 tbsp fat (butter or oil is fine too) to a simmer in a small pot, stir, and remove from the heat. Let it cool, pour it through a sieve into a sealable jar, store in the fridge (keeps for a very long time).
But there are lots of methods; this is just a very quick and easy one.
Thank you so much for the well-wishes. I’ve been battling this cold for almost two weeks now. I spent a few days in bed, but as a self-employed person, I can’t exactly call in sick. So every day I drag myself to the computer for a few hours to take care of the most urgent tasks. Well, I’ll be fine again. It’s just the patterns—they’ll have to wait at the very back of the line until I have the time and concentration again :-)
I also wish everyone who’s sick a speedy recovery. And to everyone who’s healthy, I hope it stays that way!
And yes, later I’ll do some proper steam inhalation!
I’m actually not supposed to crochet at all, but I managed to make three PiAs in one day.
The small, fiddly one didn’t work out, so I tried something bigger... The “punishment” followed immediately—or rather, in my case, in my arm.
first of all, I hope you’re feeling a little better by now—being sick really sucks! (even if it does give you a little more time to crochet or knit) ;-)
But now I’m really glad that there are apparently more “crazy chicks” like me out there—and I was starting to think I was the only one *lol*
I just took a quick look around my living room and found the following UFOs (some of them are probably already 1–2 years old):
- 2 cushion covers for spring (it’s coming soon!)
- 2 cheerful, colorful book bags (also for spring)
- 1 cozy, warm baby hat
- matching baby pants
- animal keychains (about 10–15 different ones)
- a book cover
- 2 funny snowmen
- 1 gingerbread man
- 1 goblin
- 2 half-finished baby booties
- and an autumn decoration (I guess I was a little too slow there!)
- oh yes! and something else for the next color challenge ....
Oh dear—and SO little time! ;-)
So I wish everyone who’s sick a speedy recovery, and all of us quick needles and LOTS of bad weather ;-)
