Dear users, dear authors,
bath sponges and dish sponges are currently very popular and trendy.
Are these sponges meant for actual use, or are they just for decoration?
Let me know.

As far as I know, they’re definitely meant for use. I haven’t tried one myself yet, though.
But I do have a question about that: How hot can you wash them, and how long do they last? I usually throw my dish sponges away after a short time for hygiene reasons. But wouldn’t that be a shame if you’d gone to all that trouble to make them?

Yeah, exactly—I’d also be interested to know if you can wash these sponges.

You should be able to wash them at up to 60°C. I’ve tried making various things with them, but I didn’t really like the results. My friend had asked for something decorative, but now she’d rather have “something useful.”

Now more and more patterns are being offered here, too. Once a doctor finally figures out what’s causing my neck and arm pain, I’ll finally be able to really get started. Unfortunately, I can’t do any crocheting at all right now.

First of all, get well soon—not being able to crochet is a real punishment.

I’d also be interested to know if you can actually “use” these sponges. I would have thought of them more as decorations...
Putting so much love into crocheting them and then using them to wash dishes... nah, not a pleasant thought.

Thanks, Steffi. [Image removed]

Thanks to some new painkillers, I was able to do a bit today:

Facial scrub

or

  washcloth

  wash mitt

    decoration

I find it quite pleasant as a washcloth/wash mitt.

I probably wouldn't use it in the kitchen, or if I did, then as decoration.

Best regards, Marlies

I’d give them as bathroom gifts.

The yarn is easy to crochet with—I’m actually working on one right now.

Hi everyone,

I’ve also been looking into this topic over the past few days.

My experience:
The material is super easy to work with, and of course I also put the finished pieces to a practical test. I can say they’re really comfortable. Some store-bought sponges can’t hold a candle to them.
My sponges have retained their shape well even after repeated use, feel nice against the skin, and held up well after being washed at 60 degrees.

I can only recommend it; my testers were thrilled.

Best regards, Andreas
