For me, I usually give away more than I keep for myself.
Sometimes I make something and firmly resolve, “This one’s definitely for me”… and then when someone raves about it, I end up empty-handed—but it’s still nice to know you’ve made someone really happy.

Today I’m working on Grandpa Werner’s fingers and toes so I can keep moving forward and finish him in time for his 70th birthday.
A bottle cover is waiting for the breasts and bikini top.
Tonight while watching TV, I’ll be working on the pot holder pieces. I don’t need to look too closely at those.

If possible, I crochet the ends in right away. Otherwise, I usually weave in the ends at the very end

What do you do with the cut-off yarn scraps?
I always save them in a little basket and use them to stuff small items.

I use the following formula: (squares x 3) + 1 + 3 =

For your 39 squares, that would be (39 x 3) + 1 + 3 = 121 ch.

If there’s only one dc per square, I’d get (39 x 2) + 1 + 3 = 82 ch.

this is going to be a window decoration featuring a large swan. It’s for a friend from dancing, for her 90th birthday.

The idea came from a YouTube video. But since the smaller bills didn’t fit very well, I improvised. There’s Styrofoam underneath the “cake.” I pinned the lace to it with straight pins. The outer edge was shaped with adhesive tape.
While looking for a suitable glass plate, I came across this little cake dome. Of course, that was the perfect packaging.
The gift was very well received yesterday.

No, the cake isn’t crocheted. Those are 10 five-euro bills.
Something different from the usual “gift certificate for whatever”... lol.

I just got back from performing with the dance group at our fellow dancer’s diamond wedding anniversary. We were the surprise act and got lots of applause. Afterward, we went for coffee and cake (my beloved mocha cake…grin).
Now I’m completely satisfied and can get back to my crocheting.

I might head to the last baking festival of the year tomorrow. They’ll have “Hohn ut de Tünn smieten,” a super-delicious butter cake, homemade bread, a few vendor booths, and music provided by the music and spinning wheel group.

Now I’ll see if I can round up my PiAs and do a photo shoot.

My “Mäuse-PiA” is finally finished:

I had to pick up a few skeins today for a whale mobile. The color theme for this project was “shades of blue.”
However, I didn’t have enough blue left in my stash.
Other than that, I stayed strong, even though I discovered such beautiful yarn...

We have a performance today with the dance group.
However, I’ve already received four cancellations from my dancers. Two are sick, and two just think it’s too hot.
If one more couple cancels, I’ll have to cancel the entire performance because I won’t have enough participants.

But it’s been around 35° here for days, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. It’s really taking its toll, and two-thirds of my ladies are over 80. My oldest is turning 90 now and is still going strong. I’ll probably have to slow her down a bit today because she’s so eager to dance.

I’m more of a “year-round” kind of person.
Whenever I find something nice and the timing works for me, I crochet it and put the finished piece in the big “I’ve-got-something-ready” box.
That way, things don’t pile up at the “actual” times, because that’s when the “can you quickly make me one?” requests always come in.

It was a quiet weekend with a little crocheting and getting ready for tomorrow’s dance class.
My arm and shoulder need a little more care again (today I was told it could still take a good half a year...).
On Sunday, I got a nice phone call: I was invited on a North Sea–Baltic Canal cruise on August 5. Now I’m hoping it doesn’t get canceled again because not enough people signed up. That’s happened twice already.

Today it’s so hot again that I’m sitting here comfortably in my cycling shorts...smile.
