Have you bought any yarn today? Who treated themselves to something? Who stayed strong?

Dear users, dear authors,
have you bought any yarn today? Did you stay strong, or did you treat yourself to something?
Let me know.

I haven’t bought anything yet, but that’s about to change.
My grandma wants two hats—those are now my top priority.
And my mom wants a curtain—that’s my second-highest priority
--> I really need to place an order.
--> And while I’m at it, I’ll pick up a little extra. Might as well make it worth it :)

Hello,

I stayed strong. My stash will still last me for a while.
I’m still working on the unicorn keychains.

Thank goodness the birthday is coming up soon, so I can finally get them finished.

Best, Heike

I’m still holding out too and can still make quite a bit from my stash.

We’re currently on vacation in the Allgäu, and I forgot my 3.5 crochet hook at home :-(

When my son suggested this morning that we go shopping today, I said: "Only if I can buy a crochet hook."

And then I discovered a yarn shop... I’m telling you: beautiful yarn... great quality... and I only bought the crochet hook :-D I’m so proud of myself for staying so strong

Congratulations on your self-control, Heike!

I stocked up well in July. Next week I’m visiting Waltrauds Wollkörberl, and I definitely won’t be leaving without some yarn.

After that, it’s time for a yarn fast. I’m running out of space for new yarn. I don’t want to create any homeless yarn, after all. ;-)

How many unicorns are you crocheting there? That sounds like a never-ending task!

I had to pick up a few skeins today for a whale mobile. The color theme for this project was “shades of blue.”
However, I didn’t have enough blue left in my stash.
Other than that, I stayed strong, even though I discovered such beautiful yarn...

While working on my dragon bookmark, I ran out of yarn about 35 stitches before the end of the tail, and since none of my red shades really matched, I just had to buy another skein… and last night it occurred to me what to get my coworkers for Christmas, so I picked up four more skeins so I could choose a different color for each of them.

There’s a difference between browsing for yarn online and being in an actual store. And that’s exactly what I did today. I went to the best yarn shop in Berlin that I know of. I actually just wanted to buy some soft merino wool for a baby blanket. You just have to feel it—that’s something the internet can’t offer. As I wandered through the store, I spontaneously fell in love with other yarns and could already picture the finished projects I could make with them. Oh, and now I have even more yarn at home and am happy with my new treasures.

@ruthk:

The number has now grown from 10 to 15.
I’ve already finished 5 completely; for 4 of them, I still need to sew on the mane
and tail.
I still have to finish 6 from scratch.

On August 31, 8 will be needed, and on September 8, 7 will be needed.

I’ll be so glad when I’m done with these things. There have been very few
projects that have gotten on my nerves this much.
I’d really love to start on my vest. My fingers are already itching
to get started.

Best, Heike

I’ve stayed strong. I still have enough yarn.
I do need a new set of double-pointed needles, though.
Let’s see when I get them.

So you’ve got something planned! I hope you make good progress.
I know how that is: When you want to start something new, it seems to drag on forever until you’re done with the old project. And the less you feel like doing it, the longer it takes.
