I’m going to enjoy the beautiful weather, have breakfast in the garden in the morning, and—since it’s sweltering out—spend the day crocheting indoors. I’ll also whip up some delicious ice cream in the Thermomix to help beat the heat.
We have a performance today with the dance group.
However, I’ve already received four cancellations from my dancers. Two are sick, and two just think it’s too hot.
If one more couple cancels, I’ll have to cancel the entire performance because I won’t have enough participants.
But it’s been around 35° here for days, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. It’s really taking its toll, and two-thirds of my ladies are over 80. My oldest is turning 90 now and is still going strong. I’ll probably have to slow her down a bit today because she’s so eager to dance.
Wishing everyone a lovely, relaxing weekend.
Best regards, Marlies
Right now, it’s still rainy, but warm. I really hope to be able to work on my second UFO and maybe even start on the commissioned project—a girl’s poncho with a granny square. But first, I need to print out some price lists—if my husband can get the new printer set up! Tomorrow I’ll be reading two passages at church, and after lunch and a siesta (reading—the book is exciting!)
I’d like to do some crafts…
Hooray, it’s cooling off a bit here. The thunderstorm has arrived.
We dropped Anton off at my parents’ place... He has to learn to sleep over somewhere else sometimes.
We’re going out for a nice dinner later, and tomorrow afternoon we’ll pick Anton up again.
Sandra, I came across the book "Die Jahre der Schwalben" by Ulrike Renk at the library. I’ve always enjoyed reading books set in East Prussia… Life on the estates there is so different from what we’re used to.
Since it’s still very warm here too, I’m sitting inside for now with my crochet project and waiting to see what else happens.
Later I’ll watch Formula 1, and while I do, I’ll probably finish my unicorn pillow.
Originally, it was actually supposed to be an amigurumi, but then I discovered such a cute pillow and decided on that at short notice. I hope my niece likes it anyway.
I’ve finished another project, and I’m getting started on the next one.
With this heat, I’m going to relax indoors for now, have an iced coffee, and enjoy a delicious fruit tart (homemade).
Luckily, it’s not supposed to get quite as warm today—25 degrees, pleasant, sunny—so
I’ll be drinking cappuccino and crocheting outside on the patio.
